Forums - General - Jewish-Israelis treated "brutally" by IDF in latest Gaza boat raid

Not to be rude, but I really don't trust the word of anyone who was part of that convoy ... While it was proclaimed to be on a humanitarian mission, it was obvious from the start that its real goal was to create an international incident which would make Israel look bad. There would have been no boarding by IDF officers had the convoy just changed course to dock at the port specified by Israel, and realistically (being that the alternative is sinking the ships) most passengers were better off that they were boarded.

And why waste time on Israël?  It is just an small country where you better don't choose a side. Chosing a side always lead to chosing a religion.

No it doesn't. The conflict is over land not religion. There many Arab Christians who fight alongside their Muslim brethren, in fact a few of the resistance military groups where once lead by Christian Arabs.

Its just so happens that Israel is Jewish and Palestinians are predominantly Muslim, but that has nothing to do with the overall conflict beyond that Jewish claims to the land stem from their religious identity.

I hate it when people assume Islam/Judaism have been warring for centuries when its wholly inaccurate and in fact Jews lived best in Islamic lands until the first World War when the Zionist movement began to focus on Palestinian lands as their homeland. (btw, I know you didn't state it was an age old war)

I know the conflict is about land.  Where do I say it doesn't?
Their is hardly any country in EU that is pro Israël by the simple fact that the muslim population will not like it. Jews are getting beaten up by Muslims in Europe because of Israêl, so yes if I tomorow say I am pro Israël I have a problem.

And yes their are plenty of muslims who see this conflict about religion rather than land..

Also in the USA/

I will give you that there are Jews and Muslims of extream viewpoints who place a lot of religion into this issue due to Jerusalem.

But to say that by choosing a side you automatically are choosing a religion is simply false.

Israel Defense Forces soldiers used excessive force while taking over a Gaza-bound aid ship organized by Jewish and Israeli activists, the boat's passengers said Tuesday, countering the military's official version claiming that the takeover had been uneventful.

Israel is a sovereign nation, they can do as they please.

Israel is a sovereign nation, they can do as they please.

Iran and every Middle Eastern nation are sovereign nations and can do as they please too.

They're just self-hating Jews and do not represent the opinions of Israelis or the Jewish population in the world.

Yeah, because you know what every Jew and Israeli in the world believes.

I have found a great number of Jews (and Jewish organizations) who disagree with Israel's policies and for that single reason have never sought their right to joining its populace. Let alone the many Israeli-Jewish organizations that continuously speak out against the illegal occupation and its brutal treatment of Christian and Muslim Palestinians.

he may be a troll, but he is right, if its okay for one nation to ignore the UN and International Law, surely its okay for all of them to do it?

at this point, its absurdly ignorant or blind of anyone to deny that Israel has breached UN sanctions and international law, and its just as blind and ignorant to think that they get away with this for any reason other than they are allies of the USA.

deny this all you want, but its fact, anyone who isnt blind or ignorant can see it.

I know, there's too many of Israel hating Jews, but they're all communists or at least socialists (except for some of the ultra-orthodox who also are against Israel for religious reasons, but that's a different aspect).

True, but in my mind I was rather referring to politicians not just civilians..and what the public opionion will be;
