So the latest firmware update disables non sony made controllers right? So will DS3 sales go up since Sony has pretty much monkey-fucked those who have controllers made by Mad catz, Nykko, etc?
I heard that those sorts of products still work. What I interpret is not working is there are companies that are producing accessories that look like near replicas of a dual shock 3 controller, yet they aren't the dual shock 3 controller.
So no, I don't think this has anything to do with money.

It's only non-licensed products. I'm pretty sure Mad Catz and Nyko have official licenses.
