Are you saying you don't have thanksgiving in the UK?

*dumbness chills down my spine*

yeah, totally forgot the "story" of thanksgiving's origin :p

but sill, we're only in September for crying out loud!!

I don't live in the UK , but we don't celebrate that where I live either (don't know why we'd be thankfull that native Americans didn't have guns?).

You're right though, it is only September. Halloweedn is the closest holiday, though they don't celebrate that over here either .

What should be frowned upon? Halloween? No, though some ultra-nationalistic xenophobes would probably be upset that we're adopting another foreign holiday (they're upset that we adopted Valentines Day, and that people no longer celebrate the local animal fertility holiday). Plus, it's hard to get people to wear costumes (I remember watching a news report last year, and some people were having a Halloween party at a nightclub, but no one was wearing costumes O_o). Don't even want to see the reaction if I went trick or treating door to door (I think people would probably call the police on the crazy people wearing costumes and asking for candy).

Anyways, you guys celebrate Halloween in the UK? I thought you guys celebrated the execution of some guy wo tried to burn down the Parliament at about the time of Halloween?

no it's a bit like fruit cake I guess, and you cover it in brandy and set it on fire.
