feel sad for those people who pre-order it

seems like they looking forward to act like an idiot after all

Yes, because normally when people play video games with controllers they look awesome.

LOL, WTF IS THAT? that's so stupid, dude, there's not even a TV reflection in their eyes! some of them are even LAUGHING because they're acting, some of the faces are really stupid, and they share the same reactions because someone behind camera is telling them to do it so.... stupidity at its finest.

For me these commercials didn't do anything to get me hyped.  They didn't show much gameplay of the actually games and it seems as if they are, I don't know, hiding something from me.  I don't know how to explain it.  I want to see a commercial(s) that show actual gameplay and how well those who are playing are connected to the game.

Do you have a child on the way?

What might interest you is the ad on the Best Buy web site, the one I think they are going to really push on adult television.

That ad is targeted so well the the American audience (the main audience on the Best Buy website), it could really effect the sales, not surprised if it already has.

And Kinectimals isn't for you.  It's for little kids.  Are you under 10 years of age?  Then no, you wouldn't want to play this game.

My daughter is 15 months old and she wouldn't understand something like Kinectimals for at least a few years.

Having a child on the way surely isn't a reason to rush out and buy a Kinect.

My daughter is the one in my sig with R.O.B. by the way.

agreed.  It's not a reason to rush in.  I can just see kids playing for hours with kinect.

V:  And the truth is, there is something terribly wrong with this country, isn't there? Cruelty and injustice, intolerance and oppression. And where once you had the freedom to object, to think and speak as you saw fit, you now have censors and systems of surveillance coercing your conformity and soliciting your submission. How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror. I know why you did it. I know you were afraid. Who wouldn't be? War, terror, disease. There were a myriad of problems which conspired to corrupt your reason and rob you of your common sense. Fear got the best of you, and in your panic you turned to the now high chancellor, Adam Sutler. He promised you order, he promised you peace, and all he demanded in return was your silent, obedient consent. Last night I sought to end that silence.

Um yeah, try again:

The reason why they aren't showing more gameplay is that the gameplay sucks.  Who would be interested in these awful games is beyond me.

The only argument I've heard so far for Kinect is that people look like they're having fun playing it.  Thus Microsoft shows ads of people looking like they're having fun playing it.

They really don't want to show more gameplay.  It'll only dissuade people from buying it.

These ads are incredibly bland and the faked actors aren't gonna convince people. The first one is acceptable, but still not good. The two other ones are boring as hell and like others said, neither show what this product actually is, nor do they bring this "I totally need this now!" feeling.

updated: 14.01.2012

playing right now: Xenoblade Chronicles

Hype-o-meter, from least to most hyped:  the Last Story, Twisted Metal, Mass Effect 3, Final Fantasy XIII-2, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Playstation ViTA

bet with Mordred11 that Rage will look better on Xbox 360.

For people like me and you they should be showcasing Dance Central. That game still looks fantastic.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Seems to be a contradiction there.

If people are having fun, how can the games suck?  Don't you play games to have fun?

I think it is likely that these ads are the beginning with the first set designed to hook you with later ads giving more game information whilst all the time sticking to the "you are the controller" theme.

The Windows 7 ad is pretty similar in that you actually have no idea why this phone is so great and I am sure later ads will try and convince you that they are but first they had to hook you.
