Forums - General Discussion - Met the Friendliest Neo-Nazist today.

No Joke. He was like the friendliest dude I have ever met in my life, but he believes in aryan-supremacy. I'm indian, so I'm pretty much on his list of people-that-suck-compared-to-myself-and-my-race. So you should have seen the shock on my face when he actually acknowledged my existence. Not only that, I was even able to make him laugh multiple times.

A group of my friends and I, including him, went to smoke some hooka. So we ended up staying over at the hooka joint for a couple of hours, and I was one of the last people left. The only ones left was some dude, the neo-nazist fella and his girlfriend, and myself. And, strangely enough, we had a good time. We all left shaking each other's hands. Very casual and friendly.

We live in a very strange world my friends. One where someone, supposedly, can hate me but love me all at the same time. Now that I put it that way, it sounds a lot like marriage. LOL

There's your answer?

Just because he considers himslef to be part of the superior race it doesnt mean that he will hate you and wont discuss/drink/smoke with you Im partially jew, and I do know a couple of neo-nazis, with whom I can talk a LOT. The reason they often hate me is not bc Im a jew, its because I and my family are communists :| Strange huh?

Communist? I just vomited blood.

I kid, communists are just uneducated capitalists...

I kid, again.

To be frank, I'm a tad appalled you'd even stay with someone with Nazi beliefs.

I know many people think like this, but I never quite understood that kind of thinking.

Xenophobia/racism has very much to do with fears, and in my opinion acting like this would have only supported his fears and bad opinion about non-aryans. Acting like the threadstarter did might instead have even changed this guy's opinion a bit in the right direction!

thats cool

Tell him he believes in a made up race (aryan), and he's holding back the progress of mankind. That'll make him nice and pissed off in a hurry.

Not a Nazi/Indian relationship, but I think this book would be very helpful in understanding why such things happen.

What exactly makes a person a neo-nazi? Was this guy part of an organised group or something?

Even so, I'm sure individuality can exist even on the most extreme ends of the political belief spectrum. The guy might be a neo-nazi, but I guess he isn't forced into being an extremist racist if he doesn't want to be.

You'd be surprised actually, there are a LOT of people who believe in white superiority who don't really mean it, yet do.  It's kinda a weird psychological and sociological dissonance due to the way they were raised.

I'd suggest the book I mentioned above.  A man can be Grand Wizard of the Klu Klux Klan, think all blacks are inferior, yet still be best friends with a black man and have him be godfather of his child.

Yeah, back when I used to run shipping and receiving at a college bookstore he came by and talked in the courtyard about it.  Had some great stories and a great point about racism in general.

Man that was a great job, for a community college they got a LOT of speakers, Hell Obama was there like 2 weeks ago.  It was a shame I had to move.

Ralph Nader was there during one of his elections... lots of people.
