Sorry, no idea where I got 100k from. I waa actually talking about year on year for a single week, not YTD. math breakdown. Anyway... I expect the wii to drop much more quickly from now on. I dont see what is goign to drive hardware sales going into the holidays. Only a price cut can save it this year. |
Maybe you were thinking of the week after next week, the one in which the Wii got it's price cut in 2009.
Nintendo cut the damn price for Wii in Europe. 200 Euro is just insane :p
Halo & Pokemon deserve a standing ovation. 360 once again boosted; Microsoft timed their releases and such very well. They couldn't have planned a better revision/price change schedule.
The Move did OK. The sales of Sports Champions OVER TIME will dictate how successful it actually is. I've learned that you cannot judge the sales of these types of games until after maybe 8 weeks.
The Wii is low without any type of software, but Wii Mainstays like SSBB, Mario Kart, WSR , etc are already beginning to sell more** each week as we get closer to the holidays. Epic Mickey being released on Nov. 30 is an excellent release date; it should've been before Black Friday but they still have December- All they need is ads. With Donkey Kong Country, Kirby, and the several other 3rd party games coming this holiday, I can't see the Wii losing more than... 30% of the sales it got from October 4th- January 2nd.
For those who wanna know, from Oct. 4, 2009- Jan. 2, 2010 Wii sold 12,137,580 units Worldwide.
2010 holiday will probably look like: 8,796,428 :P
The DS...what can I say....Greatest of all Time? lol Golden Sun is coming
Leatherhat on July 6th, 2012 3pm. Vita sales:"3 mil for COD 2 mil for AC. Maybe more. " thehusbo on July 6th, 2012 5pm. Vita sales:"5 mil for COD 2.2 mil for AC."

PS3 just had Move released, Wii had nothing compelling. If PS3 WASN'T in front of Wii, it would be in trouble.. |
Whose fault is it the Wii had nothing? Wasn't mine, wasn't Sony's...it was Nintendo's. Now that PS3 has motion controlls too the Wii has nothing to offer unless you prefer Nintendo's core games.
I didn't bring it up, you did.
Also LMAO @ everyone saying Pokemon B/W will do better than Reach. Of course it will, DS has triple the 360's userbase plus the Japanese market which loves Pokemon.
You can't compare handhelds to home consoles.
Again, amazing 360 and Reach sales!
PS3 in 2nd place this week, nice!
Pokemon did just incredibly well, I so want to play Pokemon again...

You mean 600k, and I would not call it alarming. |
he means it would be down 100k just for the one week if it gets below 130K next week.

Move with no doubt get some hit games, but the success of its games will be because of the quality of the games themselves, I don't think the fact that they have motion controls will make much of a difference. Of course there is no way to prove or dissprove that point so I guess it's pointless to make such claims.. I just don't see too many people running out to get a $300 PS3 and another $100 JUST to play motion controls that have already existed for 4 years. I suppose this could happen, but Move will need to have a mega hit, like FFXIII-esque to justify the purchase. As of now though, there is no reason for me to believe the Move is anything more than Sony's 32x. |
As of right now, I agree. However, Move, possible Metal Gear Solid: Rising Motion Controls= At least one new Move owner. (:

That even sounds appealing to me, hopefully they somehow intergrate Kinect in with it. I've never been a fan of MGS but I like the look of Rising.
