How much would Sony be ahead? Would they have killed the Nintendo hype and destroyed Microsoft?

If we are assuming the Sony could introduce a further drop before the holidays down to $300, then I'm sure it would be coming up to 10m by now. Of course, the extra sales would have caused third party devs to put more effort into their port (Infinity Ward and Ubisoft (for AC where i found no bugs)) thus many better games for the PS3 and less delays.

I think if they launched at $400, the 360 would be $250 for the premium today and the 60 would have about 12 million sales now. The PS3 would be at around 12 million. Their price killed the entire momentum of sales for an entire yearn and lost sales to the Xbox

A $400 system with very few good games is no better than a $600 system with very few games. I have a PS3. I have played Uncharted, Rachet, and Resistance. Thats it. We all know that the good games have yet to come out.

Well just saying, Microsoft would not be able to compete at the time head on at the same price. They would have had to slash their prices. Even if Sony would still be third. Microsoft didnt get its legs until Halo 3 came out. People would have blindly gotten the PS3 even if it had inferior games just because it was Playstation. Look at the Wii, it had horrid games all year until Metroid and Mario Galaxy other than Zelda.

Why would people blindly get ps3 if xbox is 150 dollars cheaper? People would had blindly get the xbox because it was 150 dollars cheaper. noob. Just like how people blindly get the Wii....

sony would be in a worse position then they are now. they are already losing lots of money on each console and how much worse would it have been at launch. $200 - 300 each console would sink the gaming division of sony and the rest of the divisions would have to of made up the difference. they would have sold more consoles though.
