Mine are without a doubt Ren & Stimpy and Rocko's Modern Life.

No cartoon today can surpass those mentioned, Today most of the cartoons are made in flash and don't have the creative freedom shows from the late 80s and early 90s had. So I'm happy I was a kid back then and not now. 

Yea I totally agree about being a kid back then instead of now. I loved Rocko and Doug and all those shows.

Both Ren & Stimopy and Rocko's Modern Life were more ****ed up than I ever could have realized watching them as a kid. Seeing them recently, you just notice so much they stuck into those cartoons, I can't imagien how half of it got past Nickelodeon. Maybe that's why they don't make them like that anymore.

Then again, pretty much every generation touts their childhood as the golden age of cartoons. The generation growing up on the cartoons now, as inferior as we may see them compared to our childhood, are going holds those shows as treasures just like we do.
