Forums - Gaming - Kudo: "Hardly anyone plays FPS on the PC anymore"

Minor point? Uh-huh.

Absolulutely, it is a minor point in the quote.  it is also a correct point in that context.

You seriously believe that 'hardly anyone' plays FPS's on the PC?

The ignorance displayed by some on this site never ceases to amaze me.

"Anymore" means present. If lots people are playing PC FPS in the present, then the sentence is just not true.

Hardly is not a defined number.  Depending on the context, it could range from virtually no-one up to a decent chunk - let's say 25-30%.  The point that he is trying to make is that the bulk of FPS games sold today are console games, which is a true statement.

It may or not be true, and I'm pretty sure Valve and DICE would disagree, but that wasn't what he said, was it?

Again, Kudo Tsunoda is just talking crazy and trying to downplay all non-Kinect gaming.  First it's as revolutionary as Mario Bros., then he says "rumble is rudimentary," Kinect is the next big step after games becoming non-linear sandboxes, and now it's going to be the next revolution in re-imagining traditional genres for new control schemes...

like Halo did?

That's some double Kool-Aid right there, considering Halo couldn't even outsell GoldenEye, which came out 4 years earlier.

He chose his words poorly, and it certainly makes him come off as a douche. But I can understand what he's saying. Still, as Rubang said, I think this guy is talking way too much for his own good.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

So Kudos joined this site as ramses?

He's only slightly wrong - hardly anyone buys FPSs on PC anymore.  Even when we talk piracy numbers, in the last couple of years the PC fanbase for new shooters has plaed in comparison to consoles.

You do not have the right to never be offended.
