YES, Grim Fandango. Sadly, that and System Shock 2 are apparently lost in IP hell- no one knows who owns them.

I thought LucasArts owns Grim Fandango. No?

Most GOG releases are completely mod-compatible to the best of my knowledge.

And I think the point is that Baldur's Gate is hard to get nowadays. Hell, I'll buy it whenever they go back up.

Really? The 4-in-1 pack with BG2 and the expansions is on Amazon, at least in the UK and US.

Not sure, there was a PC Gamer article about various games which were no longer published (I think it was in the wake of the surprising re-issue of Planescape Torment) and I'm pretty sure Grim Fandango and definitely SS2 were ones they reckoned would never get republished as trying to ascertain the copyright was so difficult. If I find the article, I'll post it up.

Mind you, I'd gladly buy a GOG copy if I didn't have to put up with an unskippable advert for Descent 3 during installation ;)

yeah, just caught BG in the "trailer"

the small browser icon seems different, and GOG.com (like Google) had "BETA" on it.

it seems just a terrible PR stunt.

the words above were backed by NUCLEAR WEAPONS!

Fucking horrible PR stunt, I hope it backfires on them!

This is NOT how you treat your customers!

Looks like it was a stunt after all. Bizarre idea and hardly a way to instill confidence in their service-

"We played a game with our users. The message was a little game. GOG is back with a new site that is better than ever. We are back with no DRM and no download client."

Somebody link me to the new homepage, wherever it is

Tired of this, wanna download my Fallouts and back them up

It's nowhere but it will be at the same place as the old one. Only it won't to today but tomorrow.

Yay, new games!

Oh, and to anyone who didn't notice: it's official, they're not closing down but getting out of beta.
