Forums - Sony - Gamestop seems to be moving move in my area

When I called Gamestop earlier around 4:00 pm, they said they had the bundle in stock.  I stopped by just past 8:00 pm.  I saw like four Move bundles, Move, navigational controllers, and rechargers in stock. So maybe the Move isn't selling as well in my area as others, but some of you have to stop making excuses when Move is selling well in certain place as both other users here have reported and reported by the quoted news article.

Either their distributors shipped more to that store or it doesnt sell as much there. Whats the point? Sony's first shipment was limited and is selling well. Stores arent getting the number they ordered and then many are selling all they have. If it can comfort you, this can obviously mean that the first Sony shipment was quite limited.

My was point was to those who were making excuses AGAINST positive outcomes such as anecdotal evidence and positive news articles.  It's some of the usual crowd that tries to rain on the PS3's parade when something positive happens.  In this case, they hide behind the guise of "skeptical" when what they are really doing is trolling from their typical hypocritical behavior.  Just clarifying.

call around and ask..I just called a store in Oakland, CA. All they have left are reserved bundles, stand alone move contoller is sold out..they started with 10 and i forgot to ask about the number of bundles.  510-653-4705

Sorry, I would love to, but I can't, the closest Gametop to my location its 2.450 kms of distance, and it will be an expensive long distance call, to get just anecdotical evidence (you have to remember that not all of us live in USA ;) ). That's why I hope people who can call get better info like you did. Now we know that in that store in Oakland, CA, they sold 10 stand alones controls and at least a few reserved bundles and that seems like a pretty good number, if more people can get those kind of details we can speculate if its a generalized trend or a localized one.

I really believe GameStop would rather sell customers used games over new ones. Considering it's the core of their successful business plan (as they make more profit per unit on used copies) it's more of an acknowledgement of how they operate than a belief (as if it were some conspiracy or secret).

I don't have a problem with that, but I do find it a bit annoying that they are probably the last retailer to go to to buy a new copy of a given game since they frequently don't stock them (I'm not sure they even order them if they have a bunch of used copies in inventory). They are on the other hand, always happy to sell you a used copy "like new but for less!" of said game. And every time I have to patiently explain that if the game isn't rare or out of print, I want a NEW copy that hasn't been played or opened.

So basically, I've stopped buying new games at GS.

GS generally doesn't keep heavy stock of any given item barring 1st day sales of pre-order inventory, so they really aren't the best to gauge how well Move is selling.

If I make a trip to the nearest GS (about a ten minute walk), my guess would be that they are probably out of Move controllers, but still have console bundles and a bunch of navi-cons.

Good thing you clarified, I didnt understand the point you were making. Now, not only I understand but I also agree ; ).
