Forums - Sales - God of War III Hits 3 million ! ZOMFG !

Good sales for a outstanding game, but not very great. This deserves at least 5M. So good game from Santa Monica.

But for the genre, its good to reach 3M. And it still sell decent Week to week. But i want some more to feel impressed.

I'm glad to be one amongst the 3 million.

No, it's a good game but not amazing. It's really short and have a really poor replay value, like all the God of War games are quite fun and you have a blast playing it, but after your finished it's done, there are few reasons to go back and play it again in my opinion.

92 on metacritic is by no means not amazing....for god of war fans i don't really see anything other than this being goty....

Its easily 12plus hours long if you don't rush it.

After you're done there are higher difficulty levels and specialty runs.

Most hardcore God of War players like NURs (No Upgrade Runs - No opening chests or upgrading weapons) on very high difficulty....nothing beats that experience...the story is epic, the music is mindblowing and the graphics are amazing...super high quality production values.

That's like that for just about any single player games.

Fallout 3 is a single player game and is quite big, the same with Dragon Age, GTA, Demon's Soul and the first Uncharted. Action games like GoW, Dante's and Heavenly Sword should be short because they get tedious after a while, but that's ok with this specific genre

The first Uncharted was around 8 hours long...

GTA is more tedious than slashers...atleast IV is. And GoW is far better than Dante's and HS.

This reply is spot on. GoW is the GOTY for me this year... Although it might change with GT5 and LBP2 releasing soon.

Also, I'd like to add that I played through God of War III's campaign 8 and a half times. And I enjoy it more and more every time.

Also alfred, There are 10 godly possessions that are fun to play with...

Hera's Chalice drains health.... I'm looking forward to playing a Chaos mode NUR (although with allowance to open health chests). Its gonna tear my balls off

I want to see if it can break 4.5 million, it has its first holiday coming up plus the drop to greatest hits. On top of that it will be one of the top games new owners buy for the rest of this gen, and especially when ps3 reaches 199.

I never use Metacritics or Gamerankings as a reference for games, sure it's nice to know the opinion of other people but at the end it's the personal eperience that really matters, as a matter of fact I ended  the first games in the highest difficult with the GoW collectoin before playing III so honestly I didn't  feel a big difference in the difficult setting, I actually miss one trophy after palying the game a couple of times (That bloody kick  dogs thing)

Is a matter of taste; I enjoyed these games but not so much to put them in my personal Top 10.

If it hits 5 million I will run around naked in the streets out of joy....though its out of reach....

4 million itself will be awesome....it'll be the best selling GoW ever !

You've got all other trophies but the easiest one? How did you manage to pull that off xD.

I respect your taste ;)

You ended the first game in highest difficulty and felt no difference in difficulty ? In the Kratos clone parts in 1 and the path to Clotho in 2 ? Doubt it...its hard enough to make anyone tear their hair out in frustration.
