They don't even mention the portable games market (PSP & DS) where they're a direct threat.

Not when android is kicking apple's ass

I have to admit that Android games are stealing my PS3 time. I just can't stop playing generic scrabble.

Not in gaming. Unified architecture has huge benefits to anything more complex than Flash game knockoffs. Thus far Android Market games have been very weak, to put it nicely. Android has a lot of advantages by being able to run across various resolutions and CPU's but gaming is certainly not one of those advantages and that is clear based on the available titles. Android is doing great on non-gaming oriented smartphones, where it's openness really shines

That's because the marketshare of android isn't anywhere near apple's.  Now it sells more on a month to month basis, but nowhere near as many apps or games b/c the total numbers aren't there yet

Sony says a lot of stuff... and it mostly embarrasses them later on. I'd keep my mouth shut if I were them.

They wouldn't be sony if they didn't say a bunch of stuff, that always ends up biting them in the ass later.

I would say creating the perception that Nintendo was for kids was a pretty good move back in the day.

@hikaruchan  you hit the nail right on the head

@NYANKS  I think Ninty did a good job all on there own

I can't believe people still consider iPhone a portable gaming system. The games are garbage. You can only do so much on a touch screen and no buttons.

Sure I'll enlight(en) you on MY definition of a portable gaming system. I would consider it any device that's PRIMARY function is for playing games so DS and PSP. iPhone is...well....a phone that plays mediocre games.

Im with raptor on that, if iphone is a gaming device then any current phone on the market is a gaming device
