Yeah if the fan is such a big problem he should take mine and the other posters advice and just toss it out instead of making a overly dramatic thread about it.

Hey, you can insult the thread but leave personal insults out of it. It's rude and against the rules.
But yeah, ghosts don't exist and your fan was either playing up or you had it on and didn't realise.
how fast was it spinning?
if not fast then it's probably just the insides of the fan got magnetized somehow
if really fast then just unplug = problem solved! :D
