Forums - Sony - ICO Collection: Done by Team ICO - features brushed up artwork, 3D

Kotaku's live blogging the conference with Ueda.

Some tidbits about the collection:

Improved textures
Brushed up art assets (HUD, etc. I assume)
Locked 30fps for SotC (the framerate he Ueda designed it for, apparently)
Ueda's concerned abotu the NA Ico boxart, and "will be lookign into it" lol
Stereoscopic 3D support

I'm glad that this project is being handled by Team ICO.  The God of War ports were done by some random third party, and were pretty half-assed, featuring a horribly stretched HUD, SD FMVs, and other issues.  This collection is rightfully getting the love it deserves!

Here's an example of how the remastered version of Ico will compare to the original:

Awesome, though I had hoped for 60 FPS. Sweet that they're brushing up some of the artwork, I wonder what else they're doing, with anti-aliasing and such.

I would assume they'd use the MLAA making the rounds at SCE, but we haven't really seen it adopted by the Japanese studios yet.

I wonder what they're using for AA in The Last Guardian.  The shots and trailers we've seen show no noticeable jaggies, but they may just be using MSAA like Polyphony.

I have no idea, I haven't watched the trailer and I'm not gonna.

McWhertor: Also, Ico will be re-framed for high-definition resolution, Ueda said in response to a question.

They're really putting a lot of effort into this.  <3 Team ICO

The extra two year dev time on The Last Guardian is now forgiven.  We see you were just busy with other things!

There are no spoilers at all.  It's the same environments from the first, you just get to see the boy climbing around the catbird thingy a bit more.  Shows off the animations really well, and it has a beautiful song.

I hope this is the first hint of the game's actual soundtrack!

I'm preserving the max amount of epic I possibly can for its release.

honestly...i dont think all this stuff is going to benefit the games (mayhaps even a detriment to the experience).
