Forums - Nintendo - Do you expect any TGS announcements from 3rd parties for the Wii?

Hmmm, I'm seriously doubting about that. Everything so far has been either HD or portables. Looks like it's gonna be worse than last year.

I hope I'm wrong.

You might get more info about Earth Seeker and some already announced titles, but with the exception of some casualized partyfests, don't expect anything worth mentioning.

iasta  what other previous console did Ninty have to support on its own??? only thing that comes to mind is Virtua Boy

I would have thought that Nintendo would throw money around for some Japanese support. They can afford it, and its the easiest to support the wii in Japan. They tried some bundeling with tales and Samurai warriors 3. That failed.

I thought they had something after that - something upcoming we didn't know about. Apparantly i was wrong.

In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.

Short answer: no.

Long answer: no. They haven't support it before, they don't support it today, why the hell they will do on the future as PS3 is getting steam in Japan? So 3rd party got they wish fullfill, games doesn't sell on wii because they don't put AAA games on it. Nintendo once again have to support their console only by themselves even if it had a 10M userbase.

The situation in the previous years wasn't this bad. This year is beyond terrible in terms of 3rd party Japanese support. It's like the Wii is a dead console for devs.

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

What do you mean before period?

Well, Nintendo doesn't go to the show, so its unlikely that the 3rd party developers will spent in showing their Wii games, when the main attraction (Nintendo itself) doesn't go.

Still there will be a few games, here and there but almost non new announcements.

What I'm saying is I don't remember any major Wii games being announced at TGS before. They're usually announced at other events or press conferences...

They did unveil quite a few games in the past during TGS, no matter if they were major announcements or not. This year is totally empty. There's absolutely nothing from anyone. The companies booths have an almost non-existent quantity of Wii games.

The only one to have something worthwhile is Level 5 with Inazuma Strikers. The rest of the companies didn't even bother taking Wii games to their booths (because most have nothing coming up)

Last year at least there were some news about upcoming games from some companies, this year is like if Wii has touched bottom.

You'd think they would be happy that Nintendo isn't making an appearance, due to the fact that their games "steal" the show according to 3rd party devs.

Nintendo attends TGS:

"How do you expect us to compete with Nintendo? Their software sales will overshadow ours - NO GAMES!"

Nintendo does not attend TGS:

"Nintendo won't even show up to announce games for a console they created, you expect us to ?

Has there even been just one exclusive Wii game announced yet?
