My big worry is if Republic is scum but still telling the truth about being unlynchable, and the only reason the town hasn't lost is the other scum could still kill him.

The main reason why I don't think that Republic is Mafia is because I believe him about the unlynchable thing. I'm leaning towards Prof at the moment :)

I considered the possibility of radish being scum, but rejected it. As an SK it would benefit him to keep the at the time flailing town afloat. But I am having a hard time seeing dtewi giving de-stoning abilities to an SK, so I'm sticking with Plan A.

It just doesn't make sense. He kept to his word: cured me then darth the following day. No one countered him. I still can't believe people suspect him.
Stef could be the Assassin. He did day time nuke 2 people.
Seifer comes to mind because in FF8 he lead the Galbadia soldiers and ordered TWO missle strikes on Balamb and some other Garden. The only problem is, they were missile attacks, not nukes.
He was also Ultemecia's lapdog, killing at her command (fits the Assassin role)
Two missile strikes ... two day time nuke kills ...
