Forums - Microsoft - IGN: Halo Reach Review! (Near PERFECT!)

Very expected and IGN US is trying to get more hits by just removing a 0.5 , typical IGN

I think up to now the GOTY award is a 2 horse race between SMG2 and RDR. There is still bif games to come, so we have to wait

I'm sensing that IGN will give GOTY to SM2

History repeats itself. Wasn't Mass Effect 1  a contender for GOTY along with Super Mario Galaxy? Yeah SMG prevailed.

But the jump from Mass Effect to Mass Effect 2 is bigger than the one from SMG to SMG2. Also, Mass Effect 2 got a lot of DLC since it's release which keeps it alive. The recent Mass Effect 2 DLC seems to be very good from what I heard.

Out of all the games that have been released so far, I still think that Mass Effect 2 is the most deserving for the Game of the Year award.  That is, of course, if Gran Turismo or LBP2 don't wow my socks off.

I personally thought Mass Effect 2 (PC) was a bit overrated :/. They dumbed the RPG elements down a lot and almost turned it into a pure 3rd person shooter with lots of dialogue.

...but that's just me

i loved the first, and refuse to buy the second because of that.

IGN needs to fix their shit rating system. I know they don't add up and equal out the score in the end but there is no possible way in hell that:

a 10, 9, 9.5, 10, and 10 = 10
