But when the gabe was anti sony there were plenty of people who didn't criticize it but actually even use it to do their usual childish rants why they are better than thou and how sony shoul have done better and made a console easier to make games to since it was missing out on quality products from valve..fanboys? Who knows and I don't really care. But the tones have changed greatly from both ends to be fair. The truth is, Gabe was always right about the PS3. He criticized the fact that it's much harder to make a game on PS3 than any other platform. This is further supported by him releasing Valve games only on Xbox 360, which according to him, the cost of porting from PC to Xbox 360 is pocket change.

Valve and Gabe Newell did it right: They waited for PS3's documentation to improve and there be more programmers experienced with the PS3 for them to advance. Which means Valve never needed to make the extra effort that many companies were forced to in the beginning of the generation. Also, the Source Engine was never able use on PS3 games, but the announcement of Portal 2 makes it look like they were already planning to make a jump to the PS3.

PS3 fanboys criticized for nothing. Just like now Xbox 360 fanboys are criticizing him for nothing too.

As for the Xbox Live, Valve and Gabe ALWAYS criticized it. Microsoft stopped them from giving free and awesome content to X360 owners, and Steam's amazing growth has proven that Xbox Live's subscription method is becoming more and more negative. PSN also helps in arguments against Xbox Live.

fair enough and agreed. He could have made his previous comments about ps3 a bit better tho, same content but said better without using terms like ps3 is a disaster which utter bs. But yea in essense he does have some core facts to his statements.

Steam is the only service I was referring to, and is the only service offered by Valve.

but you said it was the reason you left PC gaming which is weird for a voluntary service that you stated problem with could be easily fixed.

What am I looking at here? That at some point in time l4d2 DLC was free on xbox? WOW sign me up so I can wait for six months for a sale on a product that should have started out free.

Admittedly, I do have a ps3 so, I'm not complaining. However, I can't comprehend the stupidity of Microsoft in not relaxing their control over what is uploaded to the Marketplace. Atleast Gabe is expressing his opinion, a lesser CEO(?) would have probably kept his mouth shut, or, if asked, would answer ambiguosly.

More or less.  As I understand it, micrsoft DEMANDS to go over every single little patch and tweak you want to put in.

I'll put it this way about TF2.  My version has updated 3 times in the last 3 days.

B) Makes so much on PC that consolse work is basically just for fun.
