Forums - Gaming - Raising awareness for the lesser known (possible) GOTY's

The second half of 2010 is jam packed with some great games, but with around about 8 major releases releasing so close to each other, some of the lesser known games tend to fall under peoples radar. This thread is to raise awareness for some of those games.

Vanquish

Demo is out now on PSN & 360. The game is gorgeous, fun and absolutely hectic. Try it out.

Enslaved

"Ever play a game and within the first 15 minutes you just want to toss the controller down and declare "Game of the Year"? Just happened"

Is what Destructoid had to to say about the game after they had a gameplay session with Ninja Theory just recently.

The E3, Gamescom and PAX impressions on the game have been over overwhelmingly positive, with some people comparing the game to the recently released Uncharted 2.

Could Naughty Dog have a little bit of competition in the near future? I hope so.

Two Worlds II

With a larger development team, a new engine and a whole lot of lessons to learn from, Two Worlds is back and it's looking like the game that we all hoped the first would be.

Calling it a sequel seems unfair because it look's like a totally different game, the visuals are beautiful, the gameplay is looking great and it's offering a huge new world to explore.

The general impression from podcasts, previews and just general game journalism banter is that the game look's extremely promising and could be one of the best WRPGs of the year.

              • Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom

Still waiting for The Last Guardian? Need your artistic fix? Want to have a cry about how friends can come from anywhere and love can be found even in the heart of a monster?
Well this game might have it, not so sure, but that's why you probably need to play it.
                            • The gameplay looks to be based around platforming, combat and puzzle solving which involves a young thief and his giant fuzzy monster friend.
                            • The game has been described as a mix between Zelda and Prince of Persia (which is probably a good thing) and the impressions so far have been pretty good, even though it hasn't been getting much coverage, I am
                            • hopeful that the game will be loved by the same people who loved Wind Waker, The Last Guardian, Folklore and Prince of Persia (2008).

                          • Release Date:
                23 November 2010 on the PS3/360
If you want to recommend some games, go ahead. Hopefully some people take notice of these games, the industry needs a few games to actually take some chances and I like it when risks are rewarded.

PS: All these games are on both the PS3 and 360.

Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.

Vanquish is the shit, man.

Vanquish and Enslaved are looking amazing.

Two Worlds II is hard to predict since the first wasn't considered good.

And Majin won't be great I think.

I' d like to nominate DC Universe Online. NO ONE is talking about that game but it looks like so much fun!

Majin seems probable, the others not so much

To be honest, I want Majin to succeed the most only because I like Game Republic, but due to the lack of coverage in comparison to the other three titles it look's to be the least likely to succeed sales wise. I'm hoping it get's some great scores and that it let's help's it out in the long run.

I'm guessing Vanquish and Enslaved are going to surprise everyone this year.

Dude..... no.

Off Topic: For anyone who's interested, the Quantum Theory demo is up on PSN. It's a new IP with one bad review, but it's always better to judge for yourself before dismissing a game. It's around 700 MB and I'm going to start downloading now.

Vanquish man, that game is off the charts. Also looking at majin gameplay online it looks like shit and is overly simplistic.I'm actually hyped for castlevaina lord of the shadow.Hopefull i don't get attacked for saying that as the fanbase is as "good" as sonic and the green eye situation.
