Looks like Killzone 2 with a Jetpack added and slightly better graphics. Won't be buying this game if they don't start showing new weapons soon and varied environments. Crysis 2 is looking more appealing to me. At least it will be something different. I'm not spending $60 on Killzone 2.5

You haven't been following the news too well, even with such a long time to go they have already announced some new stuff like new weapons and many many melee attacks

One Snow Level (imho the best looking snow level on a FPS to date) and a alien junkyard looking level

just two levels shown and you have this much veriety with outer space level plus a Helghan jungle level confirmed

so with all this info already known with much more to follow, you think crysis 2 which is an fps in a city (how varied and original right?) more appealing?

Now I'm starting to wonder why I bothered to reply :S too lazy to delete this so gona post this reply anyways

but seriously, nice effort, props for that

Snow level looks good but still pretty colorless but a small step in the right direction. The "alien" junkyard level looks exactly like every other industrial setting in KZ2. The "aliens" (Helghast) in Killzone are some of the most uninspired "aliens" ever created. Pretty much humans with gas masks on. Until the outer space level and jungle level are shown its all hearsay so I'll believe it when I see it. As for now you can't deny this looks eerily similar to KZ2. I'm not interested in heavy weapons like a WASP rocket launcher. How is that going to benefit you in MP? Anyone holding a heavy weapon is going to get raped by any good player with a AR. I want to see new Assault rifles and some SMGs. Guns I can be accurate with. Spray and pray is not my style of play. It may be for lesser skilled players. New melees does not make a new game. I will try to hold off judgment till they show more content but for now I already have KZ2 and don't need this so far as its exactly the same.

As for Crysis 2 its completely new to me since I've never played Crysis on PC and Crysis has never  been released on a console. I'm actually interested in how the nano suit technology is going to work in MP.

Either way I may not buy either one because there are alot of quality shooters coming out. Reach, Black Ops, and Gears 3 are already definite buys for me so I might not be picking up anything else anyways. KZ3 and Crysis 2 will have to wow me and Crysis 2 looks more interesting right now.

Your choice of quality fps is an opinion. Let me have a crack at it.

I used to play halo 3 when i owned a 360. Now I didn't play it for the campaign. The MP was the only thing that was interesting and it felt very similar to Unreal Tournament (yes i made a comparison). The Aliens as a matter of fact looked like teddy bears to me. Now the halo world is very colorful indeed but frankly I have no time to admire the colors.

Black Ops no comment. Gears 3, hmm. Gears kind of reminds me of Resistance in many many ways.

Now comparing my opinion on those games with KZ2. The campaign alone in KZ2 beasted, but not so much for MP but I like it. Now KZ3 seems to be in my opinion focusing a lot on MP. Just the thought about using mechs is awesome to me. Don't get me wrong, all those games are good games, but our views in quality is different.

Do I need to even respond to this? I wasn't doing any comparisons of the games I mentioned to PS3 counterparts. In fact one of them is even a multiplat, but since you went there I'll finish it. Halo:Reach is a giant leap over Halo 3. I'm not going to mention how because there are a million other threads about Reach that you can look up and see this. Gears 3 is in no way shape or form like Resistance and its a TPS not an FPS. Stating hmmm after Gears isn't going to win any arguments for you. You provide no compelling evidence as to why I'm wrong. So far all we have seen is the same weapons, similar environments with limited color pallets, and a mech and jetpack. Let me put it in a math equation for you. KZ2 jetpacks mech=KZ3. When and if we see footage of new ARs, SMGs, new abilities for classes, new environments, new colors, then maybe I'll change my opinion.

Actually your views of quality games are different. My view is right in line with millions upon millions of other gamers and critics alike. The Halo series has one of the highest metas of any shooter and Reach will not dissapoint and be up there as well. I don't need to do any chest thumping about Reach because everyone already knows how great this game will be. Gears of War is another 90 meta series that is universally praised and Gears of War 3 is going to be another great addition to that franchise. Black Ops will be fun and isn't fun what matters? I'm not going to argue about what is and isn't broken about the COD franchise and just state that the leveling up, shooting mechanics, perks, and gametypes are fun and will be addicting and fun in Black Ops as they were in MW2. Killzone is different from these games because it is a niche shooter and it takes a different type of fan to appreciate it.

I like some aspects of Killzone 2 and I'm glad I bought it but there is nothing compelling from the KZ3 footage shown SO FAR that makes it worth a purchase over the 3 other shooters I mentioned before it. As I said and will say again it looks eerily similar to KZ2 with a couple additions in the form of jet packs and mechs. Black Ops will be similar to MW2 but at least it will have weapons changes, game mode changes and additions, new killstreaks, etc. Killzone needs to prove itself. These other shooters don't. I doubt Sony will be happy with another sub 3 million selling exclusive franchise. Killzone 3 needs to step up its game and so far the new footage hasn't shown this yet.

Awesome-sauce!

can't wait for the beta.

This still doesn't say much about Killzone 3 as far as IMPROVEMENTS over Killzone 2.  With exception, the level design looks much better than K2.  I think they need to show us what they've done to the classes of Killzone 2 to make any kind of judgement.  One thing I've noticed is that they haven't shown the Assult class yet.  So, either there's a "Jetpack" class to replace it or the Asshat class is been revamped (<this hopefully).

the game also has mechs other then jetpacks. and they said their will be about 30 weapons i dont know how many kz2 had, but they already showed two new ones. and about the varied enviorments they already said that you are going to go through jungles, waste land, and many other land scapes, why should they spoil they game now and show everything, the ice level looks breathtaking, i cant wait to fight in jungles.

Being in 3rd place never felt so good
