If u dont like fps then thats your problem, not because your different and like other genres means you are right...
I have never bought any Halo, i have played them with my friends on their xbox and its so fun for MP, but for first time i think i will buy Halo Reach, because its look like a very well done game and very complete so stop bashing without arguments...
pd: nobody cares about your tastes of game, thats not an argument..

LMAO seriously?! What happened to the good old days when people played games instead of counting stats and figures? Being a gamer: If you care more about the console wars than actual games then you are doing it wrong.

Dont pull that tired "gamer" card, this is VGChartz, a site dedicated to console sales, if you were not interested in sales then you would not have signed up.

You come into this thread and insult fans of the game by stating it's a facepalm that people will buy the game and you expect people to be nice? Then you state your losing faith in the community when your first post in the thread is a insult and adds nothing to the thread. Really? I'm not calling you a fanboy because I don't know, but don't expect nice responses when you insult someone.

I guess I should have expanded on my "Facepalm" comment. I made that comment because I feel that too much emphasis is spent on FPSs, there are in my opinion things out there deserving of the revenue that FPSs get but NEVER get a look in because FPSs just act like a sinkhole.
Sure Reach and the Halo series in general are good if you are into it but then again the same can be said for other games of other genres but they never get the attention that they deserve. Instead, as soon as a new FPS hits the market, people are more likely to perk up than any other genre, IMO people should expand beyond the tried and tested guy with a big gun goes bang, bang shooty shooty. But it seldom happens.
I apologise if it came across more agressive than it meant to but that's my opinion on the matter. There are too many FPSs and the Halo series is one of the more outstanding ones so it's beyond doubt that it will sell something silly in its first week, and the reason this annoys me isn't because it's Halo, or a MS game, it's because it's a FPS albeit one of the better ones but at the same time, all it will do is give further confirmation to the more half assed developers out there that Dude in a space suit armed with a big gun FPSs sells loads.
And so it keeps going, more diverse ideas get back burned/cancelled we just end up getting more FPSs, I guess I'm the only one who doesn't like this idea.
In summary, I'm not hating on Halo specifically, just what it will lead to i.e more FPSs.

There has to be a saturation point in the FPS craze. I've loved the genre since the original Doom and I'm at the point that few FPS's really excite me. I find myself wanting more and more other genres. Right now, I want more good Hack and Slash and good plaformers. There have been a criminally small amoun of platformers this gen and their sales have been less than stellar for the most part.
Fads come and go and I do believe the FPS craze will die down, it has too. There are multiple ones being released each month and competition has been getting stronger, so weaker games are getting less sales, and as the number of FPS's increase, sales for individual games will decrease. At least I hope. By no means do I want the genre to die, but it needs to die down.

That's the point I was trying to make, my inability to explain things properly for the fail.

This.
Sure you can totally think FPS games overshadow other genres or little-known gems, that has been happening for a while now. Just because (arguably) the best FPS series of all time caused such a surge in console shooters to be made doesn't mean people should think negatively of it or downplay its quality. Hypothetically, If LittleBigPlanet started some massive craze for Platformer games to be made, should we suddenly hate it if its successful and spawns a surge in those types of game's being made?
Plenty of shooters are made and fail miserably, because often the competition can't reach the bar set by previous best.
By saying that just because we have a space marine shooting guns the game will sell really well and lead to more FPS's is very ignorant. That's a clear bias that you just hate FPS games and lump them all in one category. This game is above and beyond the other shooters, always has set the standard on console. I'm guessing you never had LAN Halo parties ten years ago with 15 other people? That my friend, was a magical feeling and experience that Halo resonates with to millions of people to this day.... that is why it sells a ton... not because its got some space marine with a gun.

Read the rest of the thread, he already explained himself.
