Forums - Sony - Birth by sleep IGN review

RatingDescription
out of 10 Click here for ratings guide
7.5 Presentation
Well polished, though load times are a bit longer than I'd like. Overall story is engaging and has plenty of charm, though some Disney side stories lack a punch.
7.5 Graphics
Superb character models and particle effects, but environments feel hollow and static.
7.0 Sound
Some of the same flipping tunes show up again in Birth by Sleep, but there are new songs to enjoy and the voice actors do a splendid job. It's great to hear Leonard Nimoy as a villain.
8.5 Gameplay
Fantastic combat system with plenty to upgrade and customize. Robust multiplayer. Mostly fun mini-games.
8.5 Lasting Appeal
Three different campaigns, with tons of secrets to unlock along the way.
8.5
OVERALL
Great

I think the graphics score is way to low, crisis core got 8.5 and I think birth by sleep uses an improved crisis core engine

I agree with the graphics being a bit on the lowish side, especially since in all trailers and previews so far, they seem better than Crisis Core and almost on par with the PS2 KH games.

What caught me the most was when they said it's the best battle system in the series Overall good score and review for KH:BBS

Don't really pay any attention to IGN much any more, but it is a decent score, and I was always going to get this game

Here's another review

http://www.rpgfan.com/reviews/Kingdom_Hearts_Birth_By_Sleep/index.html

This one gave the graphics and sound a higher score

-

Wow, a 90% score in rpgfan.com is pretty good, since they're usually very harsh in their reviews. They also pointed out how, except in some few parts, it equals KH II graphic-wise, which was what I always felt from seeing the videos

D-Link system seems to be a bit like the DMW system on CC, which seems to be more of a novelty help here and there too.

Oh and this little quote here says pretty much everything there's to be said about KH BBS "With all of the new features and improvements to the formula to be found in the game, I found that it was one of the best, if not the best game in the series"

as a PSP game this is a really good score.
