I think every FF has a fanbase that both despises it or loves it, I don't think there's a consensual opinion about any FF.

...unless we're talking about FFIII for the NES which is probably regarded as the worst FF amongst FF fans

Isn't that FFII?

apparently it was received so badly the gameplay guy was banished from the series.

FFII had the same rifts between fanbase, but ultimately, the complaining side eventually overcome those who actually enjoyed it (the battle system and the growth system was pretty good, a solid mixture of both JRPG and WRPG mechanics).

FFIII on the other hand, didn't have anything particularly likable about it. Even the Job system was poorly executed. Thankfully for the DS remake, they did a massive overhaul of the game.

I voted for Kefka. I hope he can pull out the victory in this round.

Last round I voted for RAAM and I voted for Team Rocket, hehe.

It seems like Vader has an easy path to the Evil Eight. I hope he gets upset and goes down, though. Looks like it might end up with a Diablo/Vader showdown then.

I'm surprised DK is losing so badly to the Joker...I thought it would have been a closer fight.

LOLOLOLOL

Vader will win this

I probably would've voted for Sephiroth, if we were back in 1997 when I played FF7. Now I'm not a big fan of his. ;-p This time I voted against Team Rocket, have to go for Dr. Breen (HL2!!) Under Team Rocket why does it only say they were featured in Pokemon: HeartGold, were they not in SoulSilver?

Well if Vader wins this round (most likely) he'll have to face the Andrew Ryan/Kane winner, which he should have no problems with. I think if he goes up against Diablo in the round after he will most likely lose though. I'm pulling for Diablo in that one.

I actually didn't mind III that much, with the DS remake, as long as you remember it's a remake of a NES game, you will probably think that it's pretty good.  The same also goes with Dragon Quest IV and Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon.

Final Fantasy XI on the other hand...

Yup, the remake was leagues above the original NES game in every department. They even managed to make more sense out of the whole story.

FFXI also created rifts between those FF fans that were willing to take on a MMORPG experience in the FF universe and those who are content enough in the SP experience. Since i'm not a MMORPG fan, it's not a FF game that I've played nor will I play FFXIV as well. But from the people I know that have played FFXI, they seemed to enjoy it.

FFXI made $100 Million in 2009

Proof people still bothered to play it so many years after its launch

A game if regarded so bad by an entire fan base wouldn't be so strong in sales.

The troll´s and kids are voting just to fack the show , sephiroth and kefka and ocelot proves that.

Iknow people want to be cool and bash sephiroth and final fantasy 7 , oh nonono ff6 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>ff7 , ff7 is overrated  sephiroth suck´s . But the truth is that FF rocked after 7 , ff7 is a master piece in all aspects , history , character, every freaking thing.

and don´t say i am a ff7 fanboy, ff7 was not my first ff game, i play it after playing ff8, ff9, ff10 and ff10-2. ff7 is the best final fantasy ever created for the most people including me  ,

deal with it

I actually agree with you here. My first FF was the NES Final Fantasy and my favorite FF is VII (closely followed by VI) but if we're talking vilains, Kefka is still better than Sephiroth.

*sigh* I don't see Kefka winning this one. It seems there's a massive anti-FF voting going on. I mean come on, Sweet Tooth winning against one of the best, if not the best, JRPG villain ever created?

Maybe that tells something about jrpg-villains?

I'm not gonna go into that pointless debate, with arguments that are well known and tiresome. JRPG villains have as much flaws and virtues in characterization as any other genre villain. The problem is not with the characters themselves, it's how the genre is perceived nowadays.

If this voting was a generation before, it would paint a different outcome.

One of my friend call jRPG an  "attackattack, defenddefend". LOL

Kefka is LOSING!? No way! Kefka is the greatest villain ever!

Captain Qwark and Jon Irenicus are getting pwnd.

And GO KANE!!!

I know some people that also generalize JRPG's like that. Funny enough, they're all huge COD and PES fans. COD being "shoot, shoot, grenade" and PES being "run, run, run, shoot, goal" types when generalized that same way xD

Pretty much every VG genre can be generalized in such a very dishonest way when people either want to put any genre down, or simply ignore the actuals depths of each genre.
