Being in 3rd place never felt so good

I hate Devil May Cry. It's like playing on rails. There's no freedom to go anywhere.

I don't think Ninja Theory developing it will revive the series.

Uuuuuhhhh, Inafune, the series was fine with how it already was; DMC4 was the highest selling entry in the franchise since the original and got good reviews equal to 3 plus keep in mind the series is more popular in the West than Japan. There also isn't a lot I can think of that can improve the series from a gameplay standpoint as 4 was about as complex as you could get without muddling the interface into oblivion like Dante's Inferno or Bayonetta. Even on the narrative front things were fine as Nero was as interesting as Dante was and had great style

This just comes off as CAPCOM being reactionary and pandering to the foot-stamping of fanboys whose complaints about 4 were at best shallow. The only REAL complaint I had about 4 was the board game everything else didn't bother me. Backtracking and repeat bosses, guess what, they've been around since the FIRST GAME, even the fanboy-loved 3 had that problem. Inafune has a severe confidence problem and if he keeps up this self-fulfilling prophecy then of COURSE Japan's developers are going to seem inferior. DMC doesn't need some Western studio (who already MADE an average DMC knockoff anyway) to develop it.

Hope that doesn't mean unnecessary animations, cinematic touches and 80% Gun based combos...

Devil May cry is already a popular game in the west

also, I just remembered something; in an interview a month or two ago Johnny Yong Bosch (Nero's actor) said he was going to Japan for something but he didn't specify what. He might have gone there to do mo-cap or dialogue for Nero

- Just forget about it and make Onimusha instead

Trollolololol.

Which is why Castlevania is going to kicks ass

Yes!! I believe it will be the best God of War clone since God of War III.

And Patrick Stewart's voice in it doesn't hurt.

Sounds like you guys prefer long dialoge cut scenes with overpaid voice actors and branching paths with lots of travel time to actual focused kickass combat gameplay.

Correct me if I'm wrong...
