I actually thought this was a joke while reading the demands, escpecially when I didn't see a source.
Man, some people are just...special.

There have already been multiple apologists for the guy, saying that he has a noble cause. Others have stated that he's a tea partier.... Which is like saying that Milton Friedman was a big fan of Communism. |
You sound like you're pro-human filth. I suppose you also find parasitic human infants adorable.
But seriously, I do kinda sympathize with this guy's agenda. The ironic thing is that strapping a bomb to your chest is just about the best way to not get your concerns taken seriously. Now that this guy has taken the network hostage, Discovery can't air a program about overpopulation, resource depletion, or environmental degradation without the vague stink of submitting to a terrorist.
The sooner this cuckoo is removed from the debate, the sooner that serious people can come to grips with some serious problems.

I've always wondered what this would look like if it really happened? You know, guy shoves stuff into helicopter starts up the propellers. Yells: "HAHAHA!!! I can't believe you idiot cops actually gave in to my demands? Lol, epic fail on your part. (Joker laugh)"
Then the guy starts to take off but once he gets like... 10 feet off the ground realizes he has no idea how to pilot a helicopter. He loses control and smashes into a building. The copter blows up thus liquefing him in the process
...OT:
I like this man's enthusiasm but I find the whole situation rather silly. He's basically saying, "World... solve all my problems about you for me!!!". Also, he has grossly overestimated the discover channel's influence over anyone. Perhaps five to ten years ago when the discovery channel (and furthermore history channel) weren't complete jokes... But now? Nope. I think he should have just wrote a few complaint letters to the discovery and history channel about all the crazy conspiracy bullshit and reality trash they air.
Could have done his duty to society minus the sniper shot to his head

I disagree with most of what he said...But you are correct in saying that this hurts the debate, because his views can be tied to extremism. If you want to discuss points of view like his...Debate, discuss, call people, post on forums, ect. Don't go to an office building and tell everyone they're going to die.
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
This guy is crazy.
And apparently they shot him because he was stating he was going to kill the hostages.
The world has flat out gone insane.
While I kinda share the "anti-babies" sentiment... Strapping a bomb to yourself and taking over Discovery Channel? Seriously?
/facepalm
He wanted there to be fewer people, and now there are.
Maybe it's not always such a bad thing to give terrorists what they want.
