Well with Toshiba and Sony both working on glasses free 3D TV sets they are probably rather glad that Samsung has most of the glasses required market. Might be just about the shortest entertainment technology cycle ever if the glasses free tech comes around soon.

You did not just spin that into Sony's advantage.

Oh please, it wasn't even difficult. After spending the past 3 years trying to spin last place into looking like it's first place, spinning Samsung's 88% into a positive for Sony doesn't even break a sweat.

Here's another spin in favour of Sony for you: High Def 3D TV's makes Blu-ray an absolute necessity, so every 3D TV Samsung sells to expand the 3D market means more money for Sony in Blu-ray royalties.

Even better: if Toshiba are first to release glasses free 3D TVs Sony will still be laughing, because it was Toshiba that lost the disc format war this time 'round, but now they're making a TV that will help to boost the disc format they lost to.

I'm sure there's more that can be spun Sony's way.

I always knew you were Sony PR. This just confirms it. Tony Blair was nothing once Sony poached his spin team.

Tease.

no surprising sonys push started this week. it think that sony will win the 3d tv race this holiday. they just started their adds, and they are having many offers. im getting mine with 2 glasses 4 3d movies and a bluray player.

So they're going to move from less than 10% of the market to over 50% in three months?

Um... no.

they dont have to get to 50% as long as they have the biggest share.

also its possible, they JUST started advertising(this week) and they just got stock in many countries, also they started making offers this week.

Hm? They advertised 3D for months now. Fifa World Cup 2010?! Sony was the main sponsor and it said '3D' everywhere.

I have seen countless 3D TV spots on TV, too.

Anyway, I really like Samsung products, but as the 2D defense force leader, this is not an option for me. We need glassless 3D.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

Samsung's TV quality is equal or better to Sony's and cheaper. Its obvious its going to sell more. Sony charges more because of the name. Personally my next tv will be a Samsung. Most likely an LED.

Samsung does as well. But i do agree that samsung has the price/value ratio under more control then sony.

Hide your kids, hide your wife

I thought Sony only recently started selling their 3D models(mid-July(?) which would mean Sony's TV's would've been on sale for 2 weeks of this period), whereas Samsung's have been out for a while?  Also, since when is March-July six months?

Nope because he mentioned SONY AND Toshiba.  But you just mentioned SONY only.  Maybe you're just trolling against SONY regardless of the news.  See... Look within yourself before critcizing others.
