Forums - PC - Help me with Intel video cards

Hello and thank you for entering the "help this PC dummy understand videos cards (Intel Edition)"

Seriously. I have a PC. Duh.

Its an Intel one. Its a great PC, but the video card sucks horribly.

I have been thinking about maybe getting a new one depending on price. But I dont know the first thing about those things.

So here is what I have:

Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E7300 @ 2.66GHz

4.0 GB RAM

Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium Edition Service Pack 2 (build 6002), 64-bit

Video card - Intel(R) GMA 3100xpress Chipset Fam

If there is any info missing, tell me and also tell me where to find it (again - me --> dummy)

This PC was bought my father. He bought the whole Intel package together so I can only replace it with another Intel video card or he loses the extra warranty he got or something.

So, I need help knowing what are the best Intel video cards available nowadays that can be used on my PC.

Now, a few pointers:

1) Im a dummy about PCs so talk to me like Im a child

2) Dont give me links to stores with promotions. I live in Brazil so there is no way for me to use. Just the info is good enough. Se vc for brasileiro, tudo bem

3) Thank you for reading all of this and for trying to help me.

PS - I have been to System Requirements Lab (http://svc.systemrequirementslab.com/CYRI) and the rest of My PC usually does well. Except for games that are about to release like Civilization V for example. The rest, I at least pass on minimum requirements.

Forget an Intel graphics card because they don't make any lol. Losing the warranty is no issue I promise you.

Buy a Radeon 5770.

Normally Id say sure. But see, like I said, its my dad PC. So and if I m dummy with PCs, hes a neanderthal.

So the thought of losing warranty would be a big NO!

So, if you know, just give me the name of an intel card. Just so I can take a look.

Neanderthal lolol.

There is none, seriously. Intel only makes integrated graphics "cards".

Really? That sucks.

So I will see what I can do.

But can you give me a list of Radeon video cards that are better than what I have but not as good as this one?

I have looked in a few place online and the 5770 is too expensive.

Ok how about the Radeon 5670? Look that one up, it's price. It's a good card too, a step down from the 5770.

Thats ok though. I know how to look for the rest now.

Thanks for all your help.

Actually since u live in Brazil check out how much costs Radeon 4850! It's from last gen so might be cheaper. But it's faster than the 5670.

How much they charge for the 5670 and 5770 over there Marcios?

Something like 800-900 reais.Like 400-500 dollars. O_O

Strangely, I have been looking online and 4850 is seeling for 400-500 reais (200-250 dollars). Still kinda of expensive.

I was thinking of spending up to 200 reais (100 dollars). Though I might get so low that it wont run any new games at all so Id spend money for nothing
