I'll admit that I can understand your list simply because you only have a PS3 and Wii according to your profile and some of the titles you picked like The Last Guardian are very unique.

But when people own a PS3, PC, Wii, 360, PSP, and DS and all of their most wanted games are on 1 platform I think something is wrong.  So for example everyone knows the best place to play portal 2 is on the pc so if you owned a gaming pc and still put Portal 2 PS3 on your list I would seriously have to question what logical reason you would have for doing so.

That can come down to something as simple as a preference of controller.  I play any game on the PS3 over the PC or Wii because that's the controller method I enjoy the most and am the most used to.

You know you can connect a ps3 controller to the pc right?  And then you would enjoy all of the advantages of the pc version in addition to having your favorite controller

Which is extra work for visual improvements I don't really care about much, plus having to set up my computer running through my TV so I can play on a nice big screen which means I can't surf the internet while I play.  Again, there are many reasons for not picking the platform that "everyone knows the best place to play portal 2 is on" beyond just being biased.

That was a weak argument you just made.  Having to set up your computer to run through your tv is as simple as plugging in an hdmi tv the same as my ps3.  You surf the internet on your ps3 while you play on it wow you have to show me that trick/s?  Extra work for visual improvements is worth it sometimes ask anyone who has seen both The Orange Box and Dragon Age Origins PS3 running side by side with the PC counterpart.  And besides the visual aspect you ignore that PC games are usually cheaper.  And who do you think Valve primarily a PC developer is going to give the best deals and most extras to for Portal 2 PC gamers or console gamers.

Yes there are reasons for not picking the best plaform to play a certain game on but you didn't list any valid ones but that's just my personal opinion.

I play games on the PS3 while using the computer next to my TV for surfing the internet, it's one of the great things of small apartment life.  That's why I can watch It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia while I type this.

If you want to ignore that then how about people who would go with the PS3 over PC for Portal 2 so they can earn trophies, just another reason to not go with the "ideal" platform.  PC games are usually cheaper but I'm not going to change my decision over 10 bucks.  How about choosing the PS3 because your friends are all on PS3 and you want someone to play the coop with?  Or you want to play the coop locally which would be difficult on computer?

Yeah yeah if you noticed my edit in the previous post then you would know I acknowledged the trophy addicts so fair enough.  Yes PC games are 10 bucks cheaper to start with but that gap increases over time for example I paid $10 for borderlands on steam during a summer sale while the game still costs $40 on consoles.  Some of your friends most likely have a PC as well and if not are you not allowed to have two sets of friends.  That's like saying all of my friends are on xbl so I can't buy any PS3 games that have an online component because I don't want to have any other friends.

On the coop locally I guess you may have a good point but I have never paid attention to what the benefits of doing that are.  As long as the connection is decent I don't care if it's local or not.  And darn you for making me talk so much about the pc when I'm primarily a console gamer.

Around the Network

Just to comment on the whole being a fanboy thing, 4 of my top 5 are PS3 games and only one is a Wii game, that doesn't mean there is only one Wii game I'm looking forward to, it's just that the PS3 games have priority right now. Stop telling people how they should be voting, the top 40 most wanted games shows how hyped the gamrConnect users are for particular games, not the order of game quality but how much a certain game is wanted by the community.

It doesn't matter why people prefer Infamous over Zelda or why I have F1 2010 above Gran Turismo 5 (even though in terms of quality it'd be the other way around), it's just the top 5 games that any one user is looking forward to and they shouldn't be attacked for having their own very valid opinion.

man, can you guys take this somewhere else, just keep the forum to the votes. anyways, my top 5

1.) Last Story (Wii)

2.) Kirby Epic Yarn (Wii)

3.) Marvel vs. Capcom (360)

4.) Donkey Kong Returns (Wii)

5.) Zelda Skyward Sword (Wii)

Wow 95% of you all are too loyal only sticking to one hardware company.  I'm sure Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony love all you loyalists out there I'm sorry but I don't love any company enough to just stick to one.  Here's my list

1.  Halo Reach (360)

2. The Last Story (Wii)

3. The 3rd Birthday (PSP)

4. The Witcher 2 (PC)

5.  Tales of Graces f (PS3)

Well , some/many of us don't own more than one console , you know.

Well if that's the case they are lying on their profile then.  Many of the people I have looked at have at least 2 or 3 current gen systems listed with multiple games for each system.  But when it comes time to write a most wanted list they pick all their games for one console and ignore the other systems they claim to own even for the multiplats.

Well, you know, I own all three systems, but I'm only looking forward to 2 Wii games and they didn't make it into my Top 5, and I'm only looking forward to 1 X360 game, but it isn't in my Top 5 most anticipated games. I also anticipated some multiplatform games, but they are not among the Top5. It just has to do with personal taste in games IMO.

Just a few comments after looking at your list.

1.  Infamous 2 (PS3)  You think this is going to be a better action adventure title than The Legend of Zelda Skyword Sword which is possible but since this is going to be the first Zelda title made with the Wii in mind and it has the potential of receiving an overhaul similar to what Mario got with Super Mario Galaxy shouldn't you be at least a little more excited for it.  Infamous was a good game but it was released last year meanwhile it's been 4 years since a console Zelda game.

2.  Final Fantasy Versus 13 (PS3) You like jrpgs but instead of listing what many reviewers have already called a great rpg in Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep that comes out in September from the very same Nomura or a promising jrpg like the 3rd Birthday that will be out by the end of the year in Japan you choose to list FF vs 13 a jrpg that after 4 years still has no release date or real gameplay footage just to keep your list consistent with all PS3 titles.  Why list a far off jrpg when good ones some by the same guy who is doing vs 13 is staring you in the face?

3.  Little Big Planet 2 (PS3) Ok you like platformers but apparently just the ps3 kind since Kirby and Donkey Kong got no love from you.  But maybe you like the level creation aspects of the game which makes it unique so I can't really critize you for this choice.

4.  Killzone 3 (PS3) ok you are part of the minority that thinks Killzone is better than Halo which is fine.  Edit) But if you like both then wouldn't the Halo Reach in September of this year be a bigger deal then the Killzone 3 in 2011.

5.  Gran Turismo 5 (PS3) the choice that made the most sense to me on this list.

Every game you listed for the PS3 had an alternative that's just as good (excluding GT 5) that releases earlier.  Even if you prefer the PS3 titles over the other games I listed the fact that those good games from the same genre are releasing much sooner in many cases should mean that they would make it on to your list before those far out PS3 games.  And those are just a few examples I can think of many other titles that fit the genre of the PS3 titles you choose that are well respected and liked.

Well, you make objective points here, which is not a bad thing, but it's still personal preference.

1. In fact I had a lot more fun playing inFamous than any Zelda game except for Ocarina of Time. To be honest, I'm even looking more forward to the Ocarina of Time 3DS remake (which would be around #7 on my list) than Skyward Sword.

2. It's normal to think that I am a great fan of JRPGs, but I'm actually not. I tried many, but the only series I ever like and loved was Final Fantasy. That's why I don't look forward to games like Kingdom Hearts.

3. Well, LBP2 does a lot more than Kirby or Donkey Kong, simply because of the possibility to create and share your own levels and whole games. I'm certainly not a good level creator, but I really enjoyed playing all the creations by other users in LBP, and as things look at the moment LBP2 could even be a better place for people to create their own levels.

4. Simply put, I don't like Halo's universe, especially the story. I also didn't really enjoy the gameplay in Halo 3.

5. Nothing to say about that.
