Forums - Sony - SOCOM4 15' Video = AWESOME!

It’s a proud week for us here at Zipper Interactive as tomorrow marks the 8th birthday of our first-ever PS2 game and the title that started a huge multimillion-selling franchise, SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs. To celebrate the eight-year mark, we’ve put together a special video for our fans.

In it, you’ll experience the gamescom 2010 SOCOM 4 demo in its entirety with commentary by lead designer, Travis Steiner. This is the first time anywhere that you’ll see the gamescom demo played all the way through and in high-definition, making it a “must watch” for anyone even remotely interested in what we have in store for 2011.

Let us know what you think below, and please accept our sincerest thanks for making the first eight years of SOCOM as great as they have been. Here’s to many more to come!

WOW, this game is really starting to look good. This should help get Move into the hands of the core gamers, i think Uncharted 2 and Socom fans are gonna eat this game up come 2011.

WTH, i'm fighting to get the video embedded in the OP...

Looked horrible IMO. This game went from near the top of my most wanted list to a skip.

If I wasn't told it was SOCOM 4 I would have never guessed it was a SOCOM game. It looks nothing like a normal SOCOM game. The gameplay looks terrible and what's with it all being in a city environment? I'm sick of city environments in games, the old SOCOM games were cool because they had neat environments like forests, snowy mountains, on cargo ships, etc. Not city streets.

Looks terrible as all the others Zipper games.Really, Sony has so many great studios that Zipper looks so awful in comparision.

But war... war never changes

If I wasn't told this was SOCOM, i'd think it was any other generic TPS with more than one character.

Seriously, I hope it's just because this was the first mission but there was nothing interesting about that.  No real thinking required, it looked like run n' gun would have done the trick.

Just read a reply from Zipper on the blog. Since it's a demo, it's pretty much easy mode. Thank God. Non the less - the stage also didn't seem very open but again, could be because that's the first mission.
