Resistance Forms Against Hollywood’s 3-D Push

A joke making the rounds online involves a pair of red and green glasses and some blurry letters that say, “If you can’t make it good, make it 3-D.”

The fans of flat film have a motto. But do they have a movement?

While Hollywood rushes dozens of 3-D movies to the screen—nearly 60 are planned in the next two years, including “Saw VII” and “Mars Needs Moms!”—a rebellion among some filmmakers and viewers has been complicating the industry’s jump into the third dimension.

Great read! Add PIRHANA 3D to the list of bombs.

3D is garbage in my opinion.  I get dizzy watching it, and it adds nothing to my enjoyment of the film. Especially since it costs  5$ more per ticket

I personally like 3D a lot, but I agree to the rest. It seems to be the easy way of getting viewers even though the movie itself isnt necessarily great.

The reason they go for 3D is economic: 3D tickets cost more.

In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.

While I enjoy 3D a lot, like I said in a previous thread not long ago, it is hard not to hate the use as a gimmick many are doing today. Most of these movies isn't even filmed with 3D cameras, resulting only in crappy effects at the end, and then some.

lol to the OP comment.

Yeah IMO bras are garbage products, they're always too loose, and I don't get any of the support that women claim it gives.

You have an eye deficiency, we get it.

The 3D fad will die out. It won't last. A good proportion of the population can't even see in 3D due to eye conditions. Not to mention that many people get headaches and/or nausea from watching in 3D.

3D is better than back in the 70s or 80s, but it still has a ways to go since we're still using those AWFUL 3D glasses. It's mostly a tactic to get more money from ticket sales, but not EVERY DAMN MOVIE needs to be in 3D. Big special effects movies are the perfect fit for it, though even then not every filmmaker does that (Christopher Nolan with Inception for example)

?!? only a very small proportion of the population cannot see in 3D. The one that are missing one or two eyes that is.

I actually dislike this 3-d bullshit treatment films are getting, The last movie I saw in 3-d was Toy Story3 and that gave me a headache, I WAS SO GLADE INCEPTION WASNT IN 3-D
