Now that's an angle you can have and pubs certainly see it that way. They make a quick PC version/port and sell a few 100K which gives some extra revenue for a low additional cost.

It doesn't answer the question wether PC developing in itself is profitable though. Obviously it is in some areas, like MMOs and browser games but big games are obviously made for consoles because that's where the money is at.

Wait, what are we discussing again. Profitability or revenue? Because profitability is debatable while revenue is not since it's clearly in favor of console games.

Revenue doesn't mean jack shit. It's profitability and PC games are just as profitable, and going by how publishers are gettins their sorry asses saved by PC games while their console games dig them in holes, I'd guess that PC gaming is extremely profitable. More so than console games.

Well I'm a revenue guy.

Alright, call me when you spend 500mil to make 400mil. I'm sure you will be fine with that awesome revenue of 400mil.

Well when it comes to mmo and indie games I think pc is ahead (though thats arguable when it comes to indie games). Its also very strong when it comes to casual gaming (read popcap, the sims etc). Plus there are a few genres that only work well on the pc, such as rts and tbs.

Overall the revenue is in the console markets, but pc exclusives that're actually made for the platform time and time again do well. Starcraft 2, wow, Crysis, Stalker etc.

Has anyone mentioned Relic yet, they have seemed to do well with Warhammer Dawn of War and Company of Heroes.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

Can't tell if your being sarcastic or not, though TBS - Turn Based Strategy, for those who don't know
