What kind of games are you into?  I don't want to recommend an RPG to a sports gamer or something like that.  What interests you?

Anyway, Heavy Rain and Uncharted 2 should be on your list regardless of what type of games you like.

I moved from California and my friend helped me a bunch with the move. I basically traded the 60GB console to him for helping, even though he didn't ask for anything.

I'll rent Heavy Rain. I'm not into replaying games a bunch of times and one or two playthroughs in a rental will satisfy my need to play that game.

How much are rentals over there? And can u just get into a random video store in your neighborhood and rent games?

I'll probably renew my GameFly subscription when I buy the console.

But yes, there are plenty of game rental places in the area where I can walk in and rent a game for like $6-7.
