The people knocking Avatar were either expecting something different when they went to see it or they're among the group of people that go out of their way to dislike anything mainstream in an attempt to make it look like they are more cultured or intelligent because they like obscure, low-budget art films that the rest of us "uneducated, normal movie-goers" just can't appreciate.

In actuality Avatar gives you everything you pay for. A visually stunning film with sufficient acting, and a good (although unoriginal) story. It's not the greatest movie ever made but it's an extremely enjoyable experience, especially in 3D. In fact, it does 3D better than any other film to date. It's well worth the price of admission and definitely worth paying an extra couple dollars to see in 3D.

The thing you have to consider about Avatar's story is that the script was finished in 1999.

There are copies of the script on the itnernet from back then and the only thing that changed is the fact that people of Pandora were supposed to be purple, but became blue in the movie.

It took them 10 years to develop the technology to shoot the movie. While the story telling does seem a bit dated today, it was pretty much top shelf for when they wrote the movie.

@smeags, no i dont like the fact toy story 3 knocked transformers 2 out of the top 10 domestic sales, i hate toy story series with a passion. overrated piece of shit.  i love the transformers series very much, i know alot of ppl dont agree with me, but i dont give a shit if ppl do or not.

back on topic i plan on seeing : avatar special edition at least 3 times at least, after all avatar is my favorite movie of all time. its the theme on my ps3, background on my cellphone, and the screensaver of my pc. :)  

Why would you hate Toy Story?!

Wait wait...

You like transformers series, as in the cartoons and comics? Did you like the cartoon before you saw the movie?

I have yet to meet anyone who grew up with the cartoon and didn't think that what they did with Transforemrs 2 is an abomination.

Part 1 was salvagable...as a kid gets first car, car turns out badass type of movie but still pretty embarassing compared to how awesome the cartoon was.

It's not transformers. It's Shia labeouf featuring the transformers.

i hate the toy story series, because their too kidish and same bland movie every time ( shrek series is more me ).

@disolitude, i grew with the transformers anime. collected all the toys, dvd's,vhs,soundtracks,clothing. i like the transformers series because it brings back memories and also optimus prime's voice being the same as in the animated show was the icing on the cake for me, and in the first movie when prime says to megatron : one shall stand and one shall fall. that line is taken directly from the transformers animated movie just before prime gets hurt very badly and then soon after dies in the movie, when i heard him say that in the live action movie it brought back memories of prime dying shortly after those words. either way thats my feelings on it and if u understand while i feel that way cool, if not its ok as well.

all i know is : AVATAR 2 cant come soon enough :)
