Not that I heard of, but it has received some media coverage here. Plus, they've demoed Forza 3 here before, so I don't see why they wouldn't do the same for Kinect. |
Well then they just might....

I see the pattern here. XBox fanboys said it is ok that Kinect won't support non-English language when it is launched.
However, PS3 fanboys are really pissed because it won't support non-English language although they will never buy Kinect to begin with. LOL

Doesn't my point stand though? What was negative about what I wrote? I think it's wrong to think that only English speakers have the right to use Kinect at launch. Everyone else is intent on others learning new languages or rejecting non english speaking customers. Take into account that I never said Microsoft won't include all languages, everyone else in this thread came up with that excuse. |
What's negative? Aside from saying everyone who thinks Kinect doesn't need to support every language in the world at launch is sucking Microsoft's dick? Your very first sentence in this thread was inflammitory basically saying MS is giving the middle finger to the rest of world by not having *ONE* of the features work with foreign languages....as far as we know, the facts aren't even clear.
Second I gave an multiple examples of aspects of the console (and others) that are only available in certain regions. Your only answer was that I was talking about software and hardware was different, yet the Xbox is a piece of hardware and not all features can be used by everyone.
Also, no one is saying you needs to learn an entire language, give me a break, are you saying you're not capable of learning even 3 or 4 words?
EDIT:
By the way, you also said this "It's like if PS3's in Japan had PSN, but PS3's in Australia didn't." As a matter of fact PSN is not available in every country that PS3 is sold in and of those that do have it not all of them have access to the PSN Store.

I said I don't suck up to Microsoft, not that everyone else is. Microsoft are giving the middle finger to the rest of the world, because voice control is one of it's main features and it's crux of alot of it's games. I never said the facts were clear, as I said earlier, other people in this thread came out and gave that excuse, I just don't think it's right.
ESPN isn't a globally advertised product, voice control is. I can understand if a Japanese game stay's in Japan, because it was never intended for a wider audience. Kinect is being released for a global launch.
So are you saying Kinects voice control is now limited to four words? If it's limited to Rewind, Fast Forward, Stop and On, then I'd be extremely disappointed with the product.
I don't want to continue this conversation because the thread has gone on long enough and it shouldn't have been a problem to begin with, because as Microsoft said, it's not a problem.
Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.

See my edit above. PSN is a globally advertised products yet not every country has PSN access. Egypt for example. You can buy PS3s there but you can't make a PSN account from there.
So is Sony giving the middle finger to the those parts of the world? Should they have delayed launching the machine?

Yes, Sony are giving the middle finger to those countries, they should try to implement the PSN into every country that legally sell's their console. Your also comparing a console to a peripheral, which is just silly, but if Sony could have released the PS3 a little bit later with that support, then I'd encourage them to do so.

Thought I'd intervene here. First of all, you're comparing a free service, which can easily be bypassed by making an account with a fake, but supported country, to a peripheral that costs money. Second of all, for a person who lives in the Middle East, I can say that this isn't a huge issue considering they sell US PSN/XBL voucher cards here. So that's a bit of a stretch on your part, if you ask me. Not saying that nullifies your entire point in this thread, but it was a weak example.
The lack of non-English support wouldn't hurt me personally, as I can speak English very fluently as if it were my first language.

You're actually making my point! Of course it was a weak example, but it was his example, not mine. He said not including voice support for all languages at launch would be like the PS3 offering PSN in one country and not in another, which is actually the case. Of course it's a patently ridiculous argument and I've tried to point that out from the beginning. There are PLENTY of example of services and features offered in one country and not in another, it's just business. He's saying that Sony and Microsoft are giving the finger to those countries when it's nothing malicious at all, it's just the way it goes sometimes. Circumstances, such as local laws, lack of local workforce, time etc all mean that not everyone gets the same features, it doesn't mean that they shouldn't launch at all. Using his argument the PS3 wouldn't even be released yet!
Although to clarify something you said, PSN = free service which you can use if you bypass the rules a bit, voice control = free service you can use on Kinect if you know some english. PS3 = the hardware, kinect = the hardware. I was comparing the same things.

You will never change there mind so you might as well forget about it. Double standards and all they will never get it.
