Forums - Sales - Germany Move sales projection and Gfk YOY comparisons

That would mark a massive success for the peripheral if it turns out to be true.

Even if only 3-4 million are sold worldwide that still a decent size userbase to sell software to.

Oh it will easily crack 4 million. It's being bundled with every 320 gig system in Europe, at quite a reasonable price at that. I wouldn't be surprised if it does more than that just this year alone.

I dont even know what 500,000 "units" of move means...?

Is a camera and two move contollers 1 unit or 3?

Two Move controllers = 2 units. Don't mind the camera.

--------------

ioi predicted 1 million units of Move in America for 2010. Those projections for Move in Germany seems pretty high but then again the PS3 is not as popular here as it is in Europe. Or perhaps ioi is underestimating Move.

if lbp2 and sly copper collection didnt have move support then he woudnt be underestimating move.

Being in 3rd place never felt so good

Yeah, the SW numbers are what really shocked me. PS3 beating both PC and Wii.

It's worth pointing out that this is revenue, which inherently favors PS3 due to higher msrps.  In all likelihood, Wii and PC both moved more actual software, just at lower pricepoints.

Yeah, most likely. Although doesn't Wii Fit increase the overall average Wii software cost? I recall Pachter making a comment in that regard.

Even with more expensive games PS3 is able to do so well...grats and coming times are gonna be interesting

500k?  That's hugely optimistic even if bundled with every console sold.

There's only 2 million PS3's in Germany.  Expecting a 25% uptake by March 31st, 2011 is nuts.

The rEVOLution is not being televised

Oh yeah, don't get me wrong I'm not trying to imply that Wii games cost more on average than PS3 games. I'm just saying it's not as straight a conversion as you would think. Wii definitely moves more software than PS3. :edit: well damn, my mistake. I guess that's what I get for skimming the article.

Actually if it were bundled with every console sold it would it would exceed 500k pretty easily considering that's about how many PS3's are going to sell between September and April, and that's not even counting existing owners buying it. Obviously it's not bundled with every console but as I've pointed out in other threads at the current price configuration it would be a much more economical choice to get the 320 gig with the Move starter pack at €350 rather than the standalone 160 gig at €300. Unless the price of the 160 gig model drops the 320 will probably become the defacto primary SKU. Between that and adoption from existing owners, particularly existing owners that already have the PSEye, 500k doesn't seem that unobtainable.

The 350 euro bundle will sell like hotcakes in europe so i think that's possible

Those software sales are pretty shocking. PS3 sold more than double amount of software compared to X360.  No wonder that bioware mentioned that one of the major reasons to bring ME to PS3 was that its SW market is growing rapidly in Europe. Regarding the move I actually think that it could be succes in Europe. Pricing is a lot better compared to America (starter pack 59€ compared to 99$ and move bundle with console 349€ compared to 399$) and PS brand is still pretty strong especially outside of UK. I guess we have to wait and see.

Doesn't american starter come with game bundled with it? In europe we only get disc with demos.
