Lol hows the air up there in la la land?  Microsoft is a company and I am certain they wouldn't risk the kind of back lash and law suit this would give them.  They aren't ignorant...  Just like Sony had nothing to do with the 360's piracy problem.

Simple fact is someone who is out to make a boat load of cash did it.  They probably got their hands on some development software and then went through it with a fine tooth comb until they figured a way around the protection.  To be honest, I am amazed it took this long for it to happen.

Wasn't ODST leaked as well?

Regardless, this is the great Halo tradition. It doesn't seem to have a big impact in overall sales. I mean Halo 3 is one of the best selling games this gen.

sure but it could have had even higher without these

all pirated games could have higher sales

Of course, but we can't presume every copy pirated is a sale lost. I think many people have pirated games, music, and movies they would have never paid for.

Also, compared to the PS3. The 360 generally performs better in software sales even with piracy problems and very high fail rates in the past. Basically, I'm just saying piracy may be greatly exagerated on the 360.

yes we cannot assume every copy pirated as a sales

piracy is not exxagerated.i hardly see people talk about it

Well the 360's piracy problems is talked about pretty often. But whatever.

It is a hack, its a software hack much like the old Xbox 1 days.  It doesn't matter how it came to be it is.   Even with the leak, the code had to be read and deciphered.  Once that happend someone figured out how to get it (the hack) on board and then the rest is history.   Hack complete.

not really as without SONY's leaks it wouldn't be done so hackers didn't do much and it doesn't become a hack

the code had to be read and deciphered but the debug mode is most important thing and that was leaked

Team hades and ce4a are working on a Blu-ra drive cumbping thouhg

Meh, won't put a dent in sales. People buy Halo for the multiplayer. Most of the people with this hack will probably end up purchasing a legit copy to Live it up with.
