Her face looked like Gackt in the first part LOL. Otherwise the full CG stuff looked great. I'm not excited about the gameplay, though.

So it wasn't at E3? I was really wondering since a lot of stuff coming out of Gamescon was also shown at E3 and it seemed like no one was interested. Or the forums are dying lol.

It's about mitochondria and how it could theoretically affect our own genes by some form of intelligent mitochondrial DNA. 

Since we have heard little to nothing about 3rd Birthday's story, there's no way to say how it's related to past games, but the producers already said that there will be links. 

Also, Kyle and Ben from previous PEs are in 3rd Birthday as well. So we need to wait until more info comes out, probably at TGS

I know PE was about mitochondria, I was just summarizing things as succinctly as possible. And even then I don't see how time warps factor into genetic science on ANY level. The series had me at animals warping into monsters, it didn't need time shenanigans.

Well, Eve had all sort of crazy powers in the first game, and we saw some more powerful mitochondria forms in the second game, with the ability of creating giant nest like creatures, just like the ones shown in the trailer (remember the Coccon in the Ark?).

So, if there's a link to the previous games, maybe mitochondrial powers have evolved  to the point where mitochondrial beings are able to control time or matter? with the energy controlling abilities that they had, it seems kinda "logical".
