Analysis:
The EMEAA sells 96% of hardware in comparison to the Americas market. 14,216,326 (EMEAA) vs. 14,716,652 (Americas)
The EMEAA sells 52% of software in comparison to the Americas market. 80,517,190 (EMEAA) vs. 154,423,227 (Americas)
Discussion:
The EMEAA comprises Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia. With a much larger share of countries than the Americas market, it is surprising, to date, that the EMEAA has not topped the Americas in either yearly Hardware or Software sales.
Over time as countries in the EMEAA develop into first world nations, the EMEAA will and has in some cases (See Sony) become the focal point for video game business strategies.
Questions:
Why is Europe not it's own market?
Why not split the EMEAA into 3 markets consisting of Europe, Africa and Asia?
