Does XBox Live on the phones cost a monthly service charge on top of the data plan you pay for? If so then I doubt this will work.

No, there is no additional charge.
What I don't get is, IS that PHONE available? Does it even exist?
When I've seen real life demo's they've been on Samsung phones.
we have already seen digital distribution, online and trophies on PSP, and PSPgo, PSPgo failed.

We've also seen them on iPhone. It seems to be doing okay.
WinPho7's big distinction is tying back into their console and PC realm. We'll see what that's worth.
