I usually really like TED talks but was disappointed because this one seemed more like an advertisement.

It is interesting technology however.

I wonder if some people will make the same argument toward verbal child abuse as one makes one about video game violence and real life violence.

A lot of the TED talks are like that though, people are introducing new technologies that their companies are working on.  Most companies are working on tech for profit, thats how it works.

The difference is most of the time it's tech that you will never be using in your life whereas Kinect is something more mainstream that everyone on this site knows and debates about daily.

It doesn't mean it's not interesting technology that has the potential to be used outside of video games.

The part where the one guy and Milo were having an actual conversation impressed me the most.....I just thought "wow thats actually possible!"

You took the words right out of my mouth. Not interested in a 11 year old boy at all but the technology implemented in milo is as you say fantastic.
