This is almost like me asking which console is best for old school gaming and then saying the Virtual Console titles don't count.

In a sense that's exactly what I'm saying.
Virtual Console does't count. I played the 80s and 90s versions in the 80s and 90s. Where are my 2000s and 2010s versions?

Did everyone else?

They shouldn't have to play a 20 year old game. They should be able to play a modern version that succeeds in negating the older version considering we've had 20 years to perfect it. Unless the originals were perfect, which I don't believe they were.
Would you expect FPS fans to stick to Goldeneye and Doom?

Answer me this. What kind of games do you find at your local arcade, if one still exists?
I found one at Atlantis Marine World in Riverhead, had many shooters, racers, whack a mole, deal or no deal, games where you drop in coins to try and make others drop, basketball, more shooters, fighters, more fighters, more racers, etc...
Same deal at Jillian's and Dave and Busters. Same deal at the arcades when I go to places near Milford, PA which is 2 hours away from me.
Along the span of 200 miles or more these are what I see in "Arcades", so those kinds of titles should not be excluded and are in no way why PS3 and 360 are losing the war because as I see it the Wii has slowed down big time and the other 2 are gaining steam, so those games obviously aren't what is keeping the Wii in front.
iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.
