Forums - Nintendo - Ubisoft announces Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon for Wii

Seriously an on rails arcade shooter. Geez whats with all the on rails games for the Wii. Yes its perfect for arcade ports but seriously the market is flooded nobody wants another on rails game. Plus look at it , it looks poorly made and if your going to make an on rails shooter don't use the Ghost Recon franchise. The name might sell a couple thousand more copies but it will damage the franchises credibility if your going to bring one of your biggest franchises to the Wii you better be sure you don't dissapoint.

Plus placing this against GoldenEye seriously UbiSoft what have your execs been smoking? This better not be a full priced game it just doesn't stand a chance against other fps titles coming out this fall!

Hm ... this game or Goldeneye or Conduit 2 ... definitely Goldeneye AND Conduit 2 but not this!

You can see the "Wii games don't sell" statement from Ubisoft once this game tanks coming from a mile away.

No, because they didn't do it with Red Steel 2.

Actually, they did.

They said the game was tracking according to expectations. I can find a link if you ask. So you need to prove they said otherwise.

That is not what you claimed. That is "Games with a lot of limiting factors will hurt sales", not "Wii games don't sell".

The closest thing was "might be a mismatch", but that was still just one possible factor, instead of brushing it off with claiming the mismatch was a certainty (a further comment in the bullet points is an interpretation of the article writer, not a quote).

"Vandenbergite also mentioned that the target hardcore audience might be a mismatch for the Wii"

On the list of reasons given for lack of sales:

"It was only available on a single platform (Wii)"

"The hardcore audience is on 360/PS3"

Read the entire article.  It was full of excuses.  Nowhere did they talk about the real issue, the game itself.

Now please hold up your end of the bargain by producing a link.
