I offered it three times actually and he never accepted. This was when sm128 only had 1 vote.

Then when he had 5 votes and was angry I told him he should've accepted my deal. Naturally, a mafia wouldn't accept that deal because he will lose in the end. 

I gave him a way to control my vote, by accident. As a townie, it should've been obvious that I was a townie too. A true townie would've said, "I won't hold you to it. Town needs all the help it can get." And if he was so stubborn that he couldn't immediately realize that I was a townie by offering my life, then he deserves to die.
