I saw the Tekken movie the other day, and I have to say, it's likely the most ridiculous movie adaptation of a video game I've ever seen. It's so bad I could post an entire review categorically bashing every detail, from the lame choreo to the embarrassing script. But don't let my opinion get in the way of things, but maybe you'll take it from Katsuhiro Harada?

 

"That Hollywood movie is terrible," he simply Tweeted. "We were not able to supervise that movie (It was cruel contract) I'm not interested in that mv." It's so bad that Harada doesn't even want to say anything more about it. "Please don't ask me about that movie. We did not have the supervision right. I don't want talk about that," he said in another Tweet.

I can't say I'm not surprised. What did surprise me is that Katsuhiro Harada, himself tweeted that it's bad...

Sorry to say, but the communication between a japanese game desinger and an american film producer is not how it should be...

Not like I was expecting anything of greatness from a Video Game movie of a very untranslateable subject and game style and a straight DVD release.

(Stopped worrying about video game movie adaptations and came to the realization they will generally always suck after seeing Mario Bro's, Street Fighter, Street Fighter Chung Lee, Mortal Kombat 1 & 2, DOA, Resident Evil 1 to 3, Wing Commander and anything by Uwe Boll)

The first Mortal Kombat movie was good. Outside of that video game movies have pretty been pretty bad. Tekken can't be as bad as The Last Airbender though...
