What other developers you consider the "best" that are still around and still stay true to their fans?
i can only think of few like Gabe Newell, Sakaguchi and so on.

I don't know of any devs that are perfectly consistent with their quality. I think Creative Assembly is really consistent, but haven't played any of their recent games due to PC limitations. DICE fucked up recently, so not them anymore. I would like to say Sucker Punch, but I only played inFamous from them. However, I have huge expectations from them with inFamous 2 and hope they meet it.

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.
Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

Only MGS4. Hated the control system of it and the stealth mechanics. I loved the simplicity and efficiency of the controls in the Splinter Cell series. Prefered simplicity in game mechanics too. Did not want RPG elements when I want to focus on stealth tactics. Because it wasn't "realistic" the stealth was also non-intuititive. You couldn't simply use common sense, but had to be an "insider" of the series. Did not like that.
Too bad Splinter Cell turned to shit too =/ Fucking Ubisoft Montreal was my favorite dev last gen. Ahh well, somebody mentioned a SC Trilogy port, so I'll definetly be buying that. If it's a fucking remake I'll jizz my pants and get that. But probably only upped graphics like GoW 1 and 2.

if you only played one game then how do you know that the "Value went down" like Square ?
MGS wasn't meant to be realistic it was made to be fun and deep, and thats what they're best at.

What a load of self-serving, egotistical crap.
Kojima should shut up and stick to what he does best in creating another Metal Gear game.
I thought Cliff Bleszinski was bad...Kojima has the ego of LeBron James compared to any video game developer I know of.

Whats so Ego-ish about him saying he want to recover from illness before doing his public keynote while going to announce something before TGS? people are really taking it too personally for some reason
Edit: or is because you hate Japanese people?

For one, Kojima is no Shigeru Miyamoto, Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, or Larry Ellison. He is just another game developer and a limited, cowardly one at that. Outside of the Metal Gear series, Kojima has not struck gold.
Second, no I don't hate Japanese people. I hate self-serving egotists who use press conferences and the like to announce things having no bearing on an upcoming product.
If Kojima was announcing a new Metal Gear game or the like, then I could understand and support.
As it stands, Kojima is just using his Japanese celebrity status to sate his ego via an announcement.
