It's official: you'll be able to lay the smackdown in GoldenEye with a custom dual-analog pad.

It was hinted at for months, in rumor reports and in appearances on retailer websites. But now, it's official and final: for the release of the Wii remake of GoldenEye 007, Activision will release a limited edition hardware bundle that includes the game and a special edition gold-colored Classic Controller Pro.

Me, personally, I'm a fan of first-person shooters using the Wii remote and nunchuk controls, there are purists out there who prefer the dual-analog set-up, and Activision definitely has these gamers' backs – this bundle is definitely made to entice those who've enjoyed the classic Nintendo 64 version and swear by the single controller option.

The GoldenEye 007 Classic Edition will run you $69.99 to get the game and the Golden Gun-inspired Classic Controller Pro. The game, by itself, is currently listed on retailer sites at $49.99.

Of course, Classic Controller support is merely an option: the final game will have all sorts of different control options, including Wii Zapper support and standard Wii Remote/Nunchuk.

And for those that haven't been following GoldenEye 007 on Wii, Activision and Eurocom have been hard at work remaking the classic Nintendo 64 game in a native Wii and contemporary Bond experience: the GoldenEye movie script has been rewritten to incorporate Daniel Craig's interpretation of James Bond, and the game itself will be a fresh take in the familiar GoldenEye locations.

Will this fresh take work out for Activision? I guess we'll all find out when the game, both by itself and in its Classic Edition bundle, ships to shelves this November.

So, are you thinking of getting one now? I know I am!
