just two things I want to add to this discussion: 1) PS3 has 256MB RAM. You don't add your video RAM to your PC's RAM do you? No, because video RAM is very specialised and can only be used for certain things. Same with PS3. So definitely 256 MB RAM. However, at the same time, it is unfair to say Xbox 360 has double the RAM, since its 512 is shared between the video and the CPU. Most likely it'll be split 50/50 by many developers anyway. 2) While AI is very computer intensive, it takes very different types of computers to do AI. While the CELL looks very good in terms of raw processing power, which could make for very powerful physics/graphics calculations, but the CELL is definitely not designed for AI, which requires lots of branch prediction and other things which are useless for physics and graphics. The SPE's are basically useless in this case, and the AI will have to be handled completely by the PPE, making it essentially worse than the Xbox360 for AI, and not incredibly more powerful than the Wii.

The PS3 has 256MB XDR and 256MB GDDR3 and the GPU can access the CPU memory. The 360 has 512 GDDR3 shared between the CPU and GPU....For laughs the Wii has 24 MB internal 1T-SRAM integrated into graphics package, 64 MB external GDDR3 SDRAM, 3 MB GPU texture memory..*snicker*

If the WII wouldn't sell that much, you seriously wouldn't hear those same people complaining, but pointing at Nintendo fans and by calling them losers because of their "fad" console. That's basically the whole point... I guess.

How many times do you nintendo fanboys need to be told that the Wii does NOT have a monoply on FUN and that the 360 and the PS3 provide that to and that someof us have MORE fun with the 360 and PS3 than the Wii...All systems are based on FUN and nintendo does not have a monopoly on it and just because our system have alot of power doesn't mean they are not FUN. We don't think your system is FUN and don't like the direction it is bring the industry, Lord.

I like improvements in graphics and processor power as well. And the industry has a very fast pace as it is. But when you push too-far-too-quick, there are consequences, and mainly that consequence is money. Personally, if Sony had waited a year, reduced the price to about $400 and by-then would have had rumble back in, the console would appear moderately more appealing to me. But personally I'll never pay more than $300 for a video game machine, no matter how many extra features it has.

It's nothing but a psychological point of view, but if you can't face that fact of truth, then that's your problem and not mine.

So it looks like PS3 will appeal to you, maybe not in a year but... price around $300 and rumble back in... I would say... 2009

There is a few million people who will pay $600 - $800 for PS3 right now though.
