Forums - Sony - Sony needs a music store on the psn

Sony has tons of artists and a crapload of songs, make these mofos 99 cents each and watch the money pile up (it will pile up right?). If this were to happen I would use it for my psp go. What do you guys think? Is this a possibility?

Here's a list of the artist they have, not sure why it's broken up into two catagories though.

I wouldn't be surprised to see them open one up alongside the PSP2, but I can't see too many people buying music through Sony on their current hardware.

They should have done this WW ages ago imo.

would be good for Walkman too

now iTunes has too much clout.

Besides, Sony already makes money from iTunes I'm sure, so i think they wouldn't want to jeopardise that relationship too much either

SONY BMG is now fully owned by SONY,so no reason to post 2 links

Gust opened a streaming music service on Wiiware, of all things.  They should bring that to PSN.

Sony bought the rights to SONY BMG back in 2008..... they can sell music anytime they like.... my guess is that there is a problem that they are seeing a potential problem with this, and it could be from anything having to do with potential for piracy (arrr)  or payment payment to the stakeholders besides the artists, perhaps the distributors or other parties have a legal stake and would b!tch about not being paid.

If there weren't issues, sony would have done this already.

its already there its called VidZone.

Yeah who knows why they don't

SONY have so many other assets, and so much of it can go on PSN, but they  have been reluctant.

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

I don't know if it would work if it was limited to Sony BGM artists only.

A subscription based service might work but there are already several established services like that. Sony would have to offer something new (or cheap ).

A VG Soundtrack service on the other hand. Unless it's limited to Playstation games...
