Forums - Microsoft - Remedy Interview about Alan Wake! Details on next DLC!

I really hope Alan Wake gets a sequel...microsoft needs to stop being so obsessed with selling millions of copies to green light a sequel..because having quality exclusives will help sell systems

Hahaha...You guys know nothing!

Take my love, take my land..

Here is an idea Remedy.

Make Alan Wake 2 or extend Alan Wake 1...and then release it as DLC episodes. 1 episode every month. 560-800 pts each.

The signal DLC was a much more enjoyable experience for me than Alan Wake the game.

This is because it was straight to the point, it wasn't repetitive, it didn't run to long and it left me wanting more. Alan Wake as a 10 hour retail game runs 3 hours too long and runs out of ideas half way through...

You're the first person I've seen say the game was too long.

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

All of my freinds that played it agree that the woods sections drags on, and the long driving part at the end is completely unecessary and boring. The game has some great gameplay concepts, but its essentially a 3 trick pony. Its 3 different versions of the same 2 minutes over and over...the same Axe guy with his minions or the birds or flying objects.

The DLC episode did all of these things (and some cool new mind-fuckery things which are always welcome) without becoming repetitive which was great.

I hope we get Alan Wake 2, I hope they make nessacery changes (just a bit more variety to gameplay), I hope Microsoft advertise it MUCH more than they did, and I hope it launches around October.

Alan Wake 2 must happen.

Also I don't see how your still going to be playing as Alan anymore with the way The Signal left off......I'm not trying to spoil anything but how is that possible?

i loved alan wake, i want a sequel very much.

Im still unfortunately waiting for the game price to come down, Hopefully next time Remedy makes it a lot longer because this was the reason why I have yet to buy this epic game

With the first game launched, I think Remedy can get Alan Wake 2 out is 2 years, since alot of the fundamentals have already been established.  Let's not forget that many things were lab tested during the development phase of the game, which won't happen with AW2.  With a doubt, I think that a sequel is coming, and it's probably going to be a 2012 launch.  WRT sales, the jury is still in court...M$ is the publisher, and they picked a horrible date to launch the game, so they can only blame themselves for the performance of the game...like at what Crackdown 2 did with a better date, and most will tell you that AW2 is a superior game.  It would be nice to see a more open world environment in AW2, and not so many random mobs, but the game was very gripping nonetheless.
